My best friend surprised me and wanted to go to lunch in Richmond. Since she was on her way back to D.C. I knew I would need to find something that would be easy to get her back on the freeway. I searched for restaurants on the north side and found La Casita. I checked out previous ratings and it... More

Wife and I took our grand-daughter to La Casita after treating her to the movies. Very good food and fast service. My wife and I last visited her about fifteen years ago. I had the chili rellenos vegetarian style. My wife had Mexican pizza with Portabello mushroom and spinach. Grand-daughter had steak fajitas dinner. The food was flavorful and tasty.... More

It was sister’s day out – we stopped for lunch at this very unique Mexican restaurant with a vibrant and lively atmosphere. We dined on nachos (appetizing!), taco salad (scrumptious!), tacos (tasty!) and beverages. The wait staff was friendly – food delicious – generous portions for the cost – great service – a taste of Old Mexico.

I had passed by La Casita scores of times before I finally tried it. To me, it's exterior is a little south of quaint, but the food is definitely worth a visit. In the Richmond area, I had mainly gotten by with decent but not extraordinary chain Mexican food - Mexico, Plaza Azteca, Nuevo Mexico, etc. - but was always... More

Decided to try "Mexican" while in Richmond, VA overnight. La Casita was unfortunately a poor choice. Poorly prepared "old taste to the flaovorless food. If this place has been in business for 35 years (as advertised )they've certainly gone DOWNHILL ! I'm sure the lighting is dim for a reason ... And I would be afraid to see the kitchen... More

Well, my sweetie told me that this is the first Mexican restaurant in Richmond. The outside is nondescript and the inside looks like Rosie's Cantina in the Juarez area, for sure. Service was prompt and very friendly. My lunch companion ordered the Burrito Michdacano and I ordered the small Taco Salad. The ubiquitious tortilla chips came with a salsa and... More

Best Mexican since La Siesta closed. La Casita the downside...not close enough! The white sauce was amazing, not like that sweet ranch crap that those other places serve. Got the grilled steak burrito. It was covered with queso & pico de gallo with a side of rice & beans. The beans were great. How I've missed actual whole beans in... More

This place is great! The white sauce is one of the best anywhere. Many tried and true dishes and the staff is friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend for a fun meal.

Authentic and the best refried beans ever! Little out of way, but great service. Recommended by friends; real Richmond secret!

Not an impressive joint on the outside--on a busy highway corner-- but the mexican dishes were better than average, if not really original--if you need mexican food, this place will do. The owners are very friendly.
