I've been a long time fan of Strawberry street cafe but I will never go back. We made a reservation for a pre-theater party of 5. We were jammed into a table that could barely accommodate four. As the person making the reservation I was embarrassed to be treated in that fashion in front of friends. . The food is... More

Early dinner at this established restaurant in the Fan. Specials every night. This evening it was fried oysters with two sides. Food was great. Good bar and service.

Went with 3 pals for Sunday brunch None of us had been there in years, since we all moved away from the neighborhood. What a nice treat! It was better than we even remember it! We didn't do the bathtub brunch, it really wasn't much breakfast stuff, mostly lunch stuff. We ordered off the menu. I had eggs benedict with... More

Wife and I traveled to Richmond to see her brother and have dinner at the Strawberry Street Café. Roast beef was tender and soup and onion rings were good, large portions. Wife had the bathtub salad bar and was very happy. Parking was the only issue; if you cannot parallel park, you may have issues finding a spot. Would return.

The food is delicious and the service was excellent. The black bean nachos are amazing. The fried green tomatoes and crab cakes were delicious. This is a restaurant for all ages. We first visited in 2004 and we try to visit at least once a year. The service is really amazing and made the night a great experience. We look... More

Came here for dinner with a friend and my daughter (a student at VCU). Loved the atmosphere--especially the bathtub at the salad bar. We ordered a round of drinks and had to wait about 15 minutes for them, which I find a bit long. They were good, but nothing extraordinary. We ordered our meals, and then had another long wait... From its very start, Strawberry Street Cafe has been delighting locals, and visitors for years. So famous that it made it to a final Jeopardy question years ago. The bathtub of salad is so much fun! The food is wholesome, feel good deliciousness...made from local ingredients. The atmosphere beckons the artist within each of us! This is a MUST STOP... More

We enjoyed an excellent meal here after the Richmond Folk Festival. We arrived hungry, and were not disappointed by the varied offerings. We particularly enjoyed the seared tuna with velvety mashed potatoes. Vegetarian offerings were excellent, helped along by a generous salad bar.

This place has been around for more than 30 years here and there is a reason. Food is also good, great specials, and the must try infamous bathtub salad bar. My favorite spot for a reasonably priced brunch too.

I was Lucky to be taken her by a client during a business trip. I had a great meatloaf, however I have been told that the Chicken pot pie is fantastic too. I will try this next time. The menu was a nice mix of items, something for everybody. They do a great lunch salad bar. We had a great... More

Description
Here at Strawberry Street Cafe, we have been providing great food and service in an inviting, casual atmosphere since 1976. Located in the Historic Fan District, we are only about a ten minute drive from the Landmark Theatre and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. What we are best known for is our famous salad bar, which is actually situated in an old-fashioned bathtub and filled with fresh vegetables, fruits, prepared salads and homemade soups. The menu includes such specialties as Maryland Crabcakes, Pasta Jambalaya, Homemade Chicken Pot Pie, and Spinach Lasagna.
