This is a dive with a few seats downstairs and more upstairs. We arrived at 4 pm Sat, when it was slow, ordered and waited and waited. Nobody else was waiting for food but it still took a long time. The bread was terrible, where we remember great bread. The side dishes were smaller than we remember, too. Not sure... More

The Punjabi Dhaba, AKA "Prison Tray Cafe" is a three table hole in the wall in Inman Sq. So long as you bring cash you can listen to Bollywood videos blaring from the overhead TV, sip a lassi (mango, sweet or salty) and enjoy unpretentious and quite good Indian fare. I believe the term Dhaba describes a roadside restaurant and... More

This has been an all time favorite for many years. Never had a bad meal here. It is crowded, Bollywood is playing, and the staff is singing along. It takes me away from Cambridge. I love it.

If you want a quick, Indian snack, this is a good place. Do not expect much more than that. The share most of their curries between entrées.

We had our late lunch here while we were traveling to Portland, ME from Cambridge. The amount of food is way more than enough. The price is reasonable. The staffs are alright. They only accept cash. Overall, i liked it. I had curry plater which comes with chicken curry, vegetable, rice, nan, samisa and chutney. And yea, try their mango... More

This is a very interesting place, since it features amazing Indian food without bothering to make it look exotic. The only problem is that they take quite a while, but it's so worth it!

Delicious Indian food. Authentic, fresh, quality ingredients, lots of food for the $ and very friendly counter staff. You order at the counter and get your food in a metal tray. Unpretentious. Seating for about 15-20 diners, and this place seems to have a solid local following so you may have to wait to sit. When it's busy the wait... More

It's always hard to review a restaurant based on a single meal, but that's the lot of a travelling critic. This small place (more seating upstairs) has a large menu. It took less than ten minutes at lunch to get my food. The tray contained five items, the roganjosh I ordered, rice, a bit of tomato, same for onions, and... More

Came here once on my own, got something lamb and it was solid. Came here with friends, waited pretty long on a busy night but got all vegetarian stuff this time and it blew me away. Definitely want to return.
