Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stopped here on route to the waterfall after reading the reviews. We are Scottish and are no strangers to a good fish and chips.......this is the best we have ever had! Everything is cooked fresh to order and Stefan is wonderful, he took his...time with each customer and explained all of the home made salt selections aswell as providing wooden cutlery. The birch smoked salt is unbelievable, we would have bought mountains of this to take home with us!! You absolutely have to stop here.More

I ate a lot of fish and chips in Iceland and this is the best I found, amongst the best I’ve ever eaten. The fish was perfectly cooked, the batter perfectly crispy and the chips delicious!

This place is a hidden gem. Food was outstanding and the service somehow managed to be even better! Had a wide array of homemade special salts to accompany the meal which added a little something personal. Just overall amazing and if your not in the...area, make the trip. Best fish and chips I’ve ever had no comparison.More

Excellent fish and chips with delicious fries and sauces! Worth the stop before or after the Skogafoss waterfalls. All the diners were clearly happy with this charming food truck.

My family and I had some of the best tasting fish and chips in Iceland here. Twice The fish was super fressh and had probably been swimming around not long before we ate it. The crust was super crispy but not dry. The chips were...more like potato wedges and were also crispy. Mia's had many different selections of salt and condiments to use and was very friendly although she was very busy. Excellent overall.More

This little van is situated on the right hand side as you drive in to Skogafoss. Waiting time was around 10 minutes but it was worth the wait. We came around 1.30pm for 2 portions of fish and chips that came with a dip each....We had garlic and lemon and sweet chilli with a bit of a kick. They give you a set of wooden cutlery with a napkin. The fish was a good potion size and had a lovely fresh crispy batter. The chips were wedges which you can choose from around 6 different salts to add on to at the end. The meal came to around £35 I think you expect to pay more as your so close to a main attraction and the food is cooked fresh to order. Super friendly and would recommend to anyone who’s in the area. Seating is limited but you can always walk and eat or have it in your car. The opening hours are short so bare in mind it might not be open if your hear first thing in the morningMore

My husband found this place prior to our trip to Iceland and Skógafoss. OH MY GOODNESS!!! Sooo, worth it. The fish was beer battered, hot and crispy! The fish, tender and flavorful. We got the Icelandic tartar sauce and the remoulade (so good). Instead of...the standard fries, she served crispy potato wedges. The portions were very generous we bought 2 and shared (family of 4, which includes 2 adult children), I’m not going to lie, I could have eaten one by myself but I would have been really full. This lunch was absolute MAGIC!!! By far the best fish and chips I’ve had (and we’ve had them in England, Ireland, Scotland and the states!). Do yourself a favor, hike to the falls then bring your appetite to Mia’s, you WILL NOT regret it!More

Yum! We visited Mia’s for lunch before our glacier hike. The food was delicious and service was friendly. We also enjoyed trying the variety of flavored salts. The weather was nice as well so sitting outside with the views made it even better. Location is...convenient if you are at the Skógafoss waterfall or heading to Sólheimajökull.More

If this stand is open, you have to stop. It's on the road to Skogafoss, so plan to pass when you're hungry! Incredibly fresh cod and potato wedges with a variety of delicious sauces.
