This is a great place to go when you land in Iceland and want a hearty breakfast. We get the fishermans breakfast and split it, plenty of food. Herring, salmon, hard boiled eggs, hearty bread, cheeses. We also stopped there on the way home for...More

The owners are so sweet, knowledgeable about what to see, and go out of their way to advise/help you on your trip. The atmosphere is so unique too! Best lobster soup, hot chocolate (the real kind with milk and whipped cream), cakes and service! Nice...More

I absolutely loved this place. It's tiny, cozy, and packed with fishing books and paraphernalia. Very casual and feels like a place locals would frequent. It has a warm, homey vibe that made me want to curl up in the corner & stay for hours....More

Overlooking the harbor in Grindavik, Bryggjan is an unpretentious waterside café that boasts a limited variety of soups and treats. This includes free additional helpings of lobster stew and daily special homemade vegetable/meat soups, both which come with ample homemade bread slices (cut your own...More

Quaint little spot on the harbour in Grindavik. Fabulous unlimited bread and butter, open faced sandwiches, two types of soup and a few nice warm drinks like swiss mocha and hot chocolate.

This is a charming, seafaring cafe on the waterfront in the tiny town of Grindavik about 50 kilometers southwest of Reykjavik, and it turned out to be my last stop in my Iceland adventure just before heading to the airport. I spent the morning in...More

For such a small village it is a nice surprise with fresh flavors and friendly people around. Part of the story of this place. Two options for breakfast with the same ingredients: fish, bread, boiled eggs, tomato, cucumbers.

When you come here you'll realise this is not a restaurant, it's a small place with a very limited menu. But the soup is so good. The price is OK and you can eat as much as you want. We stayed on Grindavik camping the...More

People are coming for the lobster soup or for a drink in front of the ocean. We took just a beer but the atmoshere is excellent and with the sunny end of day.

The menus was small...two types of soup and lox, shrimp or smelt on bread. We had the lobster soup (excellent) and the lox with hard boiled egg! Coffee and bread was included! Over $60.00!!

I would not suggest a walk, especially not during bad weather, the area is pretty exposed. As well, as per fellow reviewers, this is not a stoll - it is a walk.

I agree. Probably safest to go near lunch hour. There are several other cafes in the area that serve breakfast.
