Love this place. Quaint. Great food with a menu that frequently changes. Not cheap but quality. I have been several times both for small business dinners and for a nice couples dinner. Good wine selection

We went at 6:30 pm on a Saturday night and were shocked to see how many tables were empty. Been there many times but noticed a strong musty smell this time. The lighting was too bright and the music was too low. It felt strange and we could hear the employees more than anything. It was as if the employees... More

I enjoyed the burger and the fries that were a bit spicy. Small place but ideal for a quick or long lunch, depending what you're looking for. The creme brûlée was fun to watch as it the top was crystallized but not very creamy, even though it was good.

This is a very popular restaurant for business meals and dinner. It's located downtown Springfield across from the old State Capitol. It had consistent quality and high end dining place that is known for their steak and pasta dishes. They always have specials that allow for a more varied menu.

We were recommended to this place by a local bartender. We wanted a place walking distance back to our hotel. Downtown was quite dead on a Friday night. Many abandoned buildings and store fronts. Restaurant was OK, the lobster bisque was tasty but don't expect hunks of lobster meat, quite puréed. Pasta special was so salty my husband could not... More

Found this place online en route. Overall, a pleasant surprise. We had stopped for an early dinner but wanted relatively light fare. To be fair, we are total food snobs. We both cook and look for flavor experiences we can learn from. Started with the lobster bisque. Good flavor, good soup. Didn't look or taste fake like some do but... More

Surprised that there was hardly any activity going on in Springfield on a Saturday night. We were looking some place for a sandwich/salad dinner within walking distance of our downtown hotel. This is a nice restaurant with great staff. Although the menu was more traditional dinner our waitress suggested the appetizer which was fish tacos. Hit the spot . Homemade... More

We were downtown touring Lincoln sites and popped into Augie's for a late lunch. We were not disappointed...excellent service that was efficient and friendly, nice ambience in that cool-neighborhood-gathering-place kind of way. I chose a pastrami sandwich and my husband had a burger. I was tempted by several other selections. There is also a farm-to-table dinner menu. Don't miss the... More

I've been here two or three times and each visit the food was very good. Generally I'm not the type of person so enjoy steak, but the steak I tried here was so perfectly cooked I had to admit it was good. For me, texture is a huge deal and it's so easy to screw up steak and make the... More

We decided to try Augie's Front Burner last month on the event of its second annual Vegan's Tasting Dinner, and came away well satisfied with the originality and execution of the 7 course, prix fixe menu as well as the service. Then, still enjoying the memories of the Tasting, we returned there a week ago, only to find that we... More
