I went to lunch here with my dad. He had the B&B sandwich with fries and I had the breaded chicken fingers with fries. I tell ya, it was not only delicious but very filling, too. They were very generous on the amount of chicken fingers. It has an old school look to the place and there's a sign when... More

Not much for a vegetarian to eat (tortellini and/or salad). Steaks and prime rib were ok. Plenty of sauces to accompany. Onion rings were good. As were the crispy hash browns and the complementary cottage cheese and liver pate. Homemade desserts but I had no room to try. Photo of prime rib and hash browns.

They have a garlic cottage cheese they serve with all meals. Most must love it, I thought just OK. Prime Rib is Great, but a bit pricey. This was my second visit and I'll probably return.

The chicken fried steak was awful, the coating was soggy and the steak was tough. The gelatinous mushroom sauce was Luke warm and flavorless. The French fries were good as well as the salads we had. My husband's steak was ok. This waiter was dull and never returned to ask how our meal was until we were finished. My tiny... More

Johnny's Cafe has been around for decades and is a great steak house. In fact, Jack Nicholson filmed a scene there in his movie "About Schmidt". There is the charm of an old world classy steakhouse. The food is historically good quality and a popular place for Omahans and tourists.

The service is great and the food the best. This is an old school, go to! A grood value. I am partial to the prime rib but you can't go wrong with the steaks.

Sigh. It is sad that this restaurant is so bad, because so many other classic Omaha restaurants have CLOSED. I waaaanted Johnny's to still be good. I was rooting for it! But it was a fail. Lunch time crowd was very light (we were there early). Service was good - friendly waitress and attentive. But the food... Bleck. It just... More

You expect Frank Sinatra and his Las Vega pals to stroll in any minute. Pack into a huge red leather booth in the bar and drink up. Straight, no chaser. This is man town. Food is nothing special. Johnny's is the last vestige of South Omaha's booming stock yard complex when all the hustlers and hot runners got drunk at... More

This restaurant was recommended by a friend for my husband's 50th birthday and it did not disappoint! The retro interior is one-of-a-kind! Our food was hot and delicious, our waitress was very nice and the dessert was icing on the cake!

This is one of the "old school" steakhouses that is still around. I remember visiting this place with my parents in its heyday when the crowds were large and the the dining room was full. I took my grown kids to Johnny's for lunch on my son's bday. I believe that we each ordered something different and everyone was very... More
