While they have a LOT of great items, we always come for the peanut butter cookies, and of course leave with those and something else.

Very cool to learn that one of the head bakers here was nominated for a James Beard award! We stopped in around 11 on a Thursday morning and were surprised to already find some of the daily items were sold out. We settled on the savory scone with ham and chèvre and a fruit scone with rhubarb and blackberry. They... More

I have been buying cakes at Fire Island Rustic Bakeshop for about the past year. Their cakes are excellent, hand made creations that never fail to receive rave reviews whenever we serve them to our friends and family. I was always told to have one of their scones but whenever I was there to buy a cake they were sold... More

This is a must stop if you're making a trip to Anchorage - if you like very good quality baked goods: breads, scones, cookies, muffins, rich cakes... and other local made goods like sauerkraut, pickled beets... My favorite breakfast go to item is the vegetarian breakfast sandwich. That sandwich would make your taste buds dance if they could. I've also... More

What initially attracted me to this absolutely fantastic bakery/meal place was its name. I am from Long Island and fire Island is a beach that I have enjoyed for most of my life. The owner and I struck up a great conversation but more importantly the food was fabulous! High quality and super fresh with adequate portions. I travel to... More

This cafe never disappoints. Seriously the most incredible sandwiches and baked goods in Anchorage. I have been here a few times and literally the day after I arrive in Alaska I make it a plan to visit. This time I had a smoked salmon chowder, a cuban sandwich and a chocolate cupcake. The most amazing blend of flavors and generous... More

Excellent baked goods...fell in love. Wish I had this bakery near me! The lightest, flakiest croissants, filled with chocolate, or even just plain, heavenly puff pastries....to Die for!

Wow, what a wonderful surprise this place was. It blended in so well with the neighborhood that we kept passing it. So glad we found. The pastries was off the charts GREAT. Scones, muffins, cookies, pumpkin cake...were all out of this world. Coffee - great also. This little cafe was busy, but the staff never rushed anyone. Extremely nice and... More
