This restaurant, right in the heart of the town offers a unique experience. You are in a cave and will have a set menue. Star of the menue is bread. Baked in an open fire right in the restaurant. They serve typical local food and wine as much as you want. Price very reasonable and staff helpful and friendly.

I have eaten in other Troglodyte restaurants in this region but I have to say this was exceptional A very warm welcome and a great explanation of the specialities cooked in a wood fired oven at the entrance to the cave. We had the offered special starting with a local Coteaux de Loire semi sweet wine for an apero. This... More

Came across Le Caveau after visiting the nearby Mystère des Faluns (worth a visit!). Their formula is simple - a menu based around a local speciality. If you're looking for a choice, go somewhere else. If you like good, simple food cooked very well and beautiful specialty bread prepared in the restaurant then enjoy ! Lovely, friendly staff and very... More

We stopped in on recommendation from our hotel. The owners greet you with a smile. They served delicious fresh hot bread from a fire oven. Your fill them and enjoy. The atmosphere is unique with the cave... worth a visit.

The host was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was unique. The price was reasonable, especially since wine was included. But the rillette de porc reminded me of cold chicken salad before any seasoning is added. The fried pork was the same. Nothing special. The goat cheese and mushroom courses were the best by far.

We came with a party of 10, and got mixed up on our reservations with another restaurant, not too far away. They were lovely about the mix-up/being late on arriving by a half hour in the afternoon, near 14h. Though this is not only an experience we all wanted to have (with the oven-fresh, bread - a bit like a... More

The fixed Menu Troglos focuses on the food of the ancient people who lived here, and on local ingredients. Very good, varied foods, and an extraordinary value when you factor in that wine is included in the modest price.

Just one set menu - no need to make any decisions. You are offered an aperitif of Coteau de layon, a lovely, local, sweet wine. The first starter - delicious garlic mushrooms in small pitta breads, the pitta breads arrive throughout the meal hot, straight out of the oven which is located at the front of the restaurant. The rillettes... More

We ate here the first week of our holiday and returned the third week. We enjoyed a multi course menu, each course accompanied by fresh hot pocket bread with unlimited wine. The first course stuffed mushrooms are exceptional, but each course is delicious. Great service and the cave provides a fun backdrop.

We had a fab meal here. We weren't at all sure what to expect as we entered a cave but the waiter was very pleasant and welcoming and quickly switched to English but also put up with our attempts at French! It was a set menu of €23.50 each but we felt it to be excellent value as it included... More
