When you walk down the stairs from the book store it looks super cool. Very nice and comfy atmosphere. The beer selection is really poor for a nice Seattle pub. I was expecting some really good brews but, there was a very limited selection. Service was horrible. My wife and I had to flag someone down after about 15 minutes... More

Snug wood-wrapped basement pub under the neighborhood bookstore. We loved the place but it may not be for everyone: no windows, low ceilings, and a bit close. At a less busy time I'd expect to see people reading literature and discussing philosophy. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday evening: lively mix of work and friend groups, and families with... We came here for a quick date night. Love the look of the pub from previous visits to the bookstore. The service was really slow even when you sit at the bar in front of the bartender. In fact only the bus boy gave us the time of day and when he took out order the bartender barked at him.... More

I've really enjoyed the burgers in this pub. Their beer selection is good and the service is decent - waiters are bit odd. The best part of the pub is the outdoor patio by the bookshop. The inside is also pretty nice and a good place to play scrabble. Its great to have a beer over a long conversation. Their... More

When our grandson was at Children's Hospital in Seattle, my husband and I stumbled on this neighborhood pub on our walk back from the hospital to where we were staying. As it turned out, we spent most of our eating out nights back at this pub. The staff was most friendly, gracious and caring. Then came the outstanding beers. With... More

Been here many times, we go about once a month. We love this place on a rainy weekend afternoon or a cold winter evening. The place is warm and cozy with lots of wood. The music is perfect background for conversing or reading. Great beer selection. Wonderful food from the cafe upstairs, everything on the menu is good. Service is... More

A real neighborhood pub, but better food than the faux-English kind of place. The pub menu is a limited version of the Vios restaurant upstairs, but has kid-friendly items as well as delicious salads--I loved the heirloom tomato salad for a light dinner.

Good gourmet pub food, lots of good beer. Game- and group-friendly.

One very rude staff member. We won't be back. Long story short: If you are looking for a pub to hang out with friends and relax there are MUCH better places in the neighborhood than this. The rest of the story: My friend and I were treated to some of the rudest and most inappropriate behavior I've ever witnessed from... More

The pub is downstairs from Third Place Books and the Honey Bear Bakery. It has a rustic, cozy feel, with lots of wood panelling and tables made from large, minimally finished slabs of wood. They have a good range of appetizers (the nachos are particularly good), sandwiches and entrees as well as desserts from the bakery upstairs. It's a great... More
