Reservations were recommended, but we lucked out and got a table right away. The establishment is clean and well lit and staff is VERY attentive to your every need (from wet napkins to clean your hands, to refilling your drinks, hot water, ice water -...More

This restaurant gives one the opportunity to eat more than just sushi. The broth of dobin mushi is excellent--clam nectar with hints of black cod, crab, and lots of matsutake mushrooms. I would have been happy just drinking the broth with a bowl of rice....More

Sushi Kappo Tamura offers one of the best Omakase (Chef's special) Japanese dinners in town. It includes some small dishes and fish, and a few sushi pieces. Be sure to bring good appetite. The main chef was a winner of Iron Chef competition.

We visited Sushi Kappo Tamura and were wowed by the food. The black cod was delicious, the sashimi was very fresh, tasty, and exquisitely presented. Service was excellent. Prices were higher than expected but more than justified by the food, service, and experience.

We lived in Japan for over two years. The food here is as good as we remember there, with some "twists" or updates. All fresh. Great service.

Friendly staff, large selection, delicious ice cream. Method of ordering a bit quirky, but I guess it works when they're very busy.

Came during restaurant week. I got the chef's sushi selection and thought the sushi was just okay. The texture was a little on the tough side and it was a bit dry. There is better sushi in the area for less money. I did, however,...More

Let's get these out of the way first. Yes parking can be a headache, with Lyft/Uber your ibuprofen. Yes it is pricey. Why? Because it's worth it. For the finest, freshest, local, sustainably farmed ingredients transformed by a master. Better than Sansei in Kapalua. And...More
