We love sushi and when we were visiting Kona we were happy to stumble into this place. The sushi was very good and the service was good as well.

This restaurant has terrible service. If you ever get to order, the food is pretty good and if you get all of your order and before you are too famished. They may have changed the name and the management, but at least the old service was fair. I won't patronize them again, but hey, maybe they don't care!

Always friendly staff and good spot to eat lunch. We have eaten there several times over the last few years and the food is consistently good. Reasonable prices.

Not the most impressive ambiance, which makes for really good sushi/sashimi at a reasonable price. Most authentic in Kailua-Kona. In the rear of a small strip mall. Limited menu, but all very tasty. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Can't go wrong at Hayama.

If you like Sushi, definitely go here. Best California Roll I've ever had. My husband had sashimi and also said that it was excellent. In a small, quiet strip mall about 2 blocks from the tourist strip. Worth walking there. Prices are reasonable.

Went for dinner and at 1st thought it was a little pricey however, the amount of food given was fantastic! Didn't even finish our plates. We had the combo shrimp & vegetable tempura with teriyaki chicken. I will definitely return but would like to try their lunches.

Ate here a few times during our last visit to Kailua-Kona May 2016. Excellent, fresh and delicious sushi with a very friendly and welcoming staff. Every roll was well constructed and the mackerel was like butter!

Sitting here reminded me of some of the Izakaya's I've visited in Japan...but instead of sitting on the floor, we sat on chairs! Ordered ume/shiso roll, a brined Makarel Nigiri on Ginger-Sushi Rice. These were sooo yummy! Our sides were the Salmon Skin Salad and Cold Soba w/Tempura! Good Eats!

Food is always great, and service is consistently good. Really good sushi, rice to fish ratio is spot on. Price is decent for portions, and lunch special offers a good meal for myself and young child. It's busy all the time, but still manage to get seated quickly. Only knock is on myself for not trying dinner there.
