So let me tell you something... I am a very picky eater and a harsh food critic, as soon as I walked in I saw several people in line so we took a menu while we waited saw those prices and thought they were a little high for it to be a deli. We continued through were we placed our... More

Service was fast and food was great. This local deli was packed every time we went but it never took long to get our food. The vegetarian sandwich was great.

This deli is frequented by many workers from the corporations in the buildings nearby. It can get really crowded around noon but the line moves quickly. Everything is fresh and homemade. The salads are especially good. Today we both had the soup and sandwich combo. A large bowl of crab bisque and a half of sandwich. There are many choices... More

My wife and I had lunch there today. We were met by the owner Tina who is very warm and friendly. She really makes you feel welcome! Good menu with daily specials, hot and cold. My wife really liked the chicken salad and the slaw and my Reuben was outstanding. Great little place!

My wife and I go to New Orleans from Dallas every year after Christmas to get a break from hectic family gatherings and typically like to venture off the Tourist beat i.e., French Quarter. Checked out TripAdvisor (okay, and Yelp) and made the jaunt to Welty's. Planned on getting a full Muffuletta, bowl of gumbo, and a Pork Poboy (with... More

So excited when we found this adorable spot next to our hotel - SO yummy! Everything we had was fresh and delicious. It hit the spot each time. To top it off, the owner is delightful and so is her staff.

We had our last breakfast at Welty's because this place was very close to our hotel. It was not busy at all. A bad sign? The lady at the counter did not have any warm welcoming attitude. She did not want to be there I assume. When my husband tried to strike a conversation with her with a joke, she... More

Super friendly service, feels like you're in your own neighborhood deli. Great variety on the regular menu, but be sure to check out the daily specials too. The chicken cordon bleu was "lights out" (meaning really good!) according to my boyfriend and I chose a daily special- the fried chicken and waffles sandwich, which was AMAZING! So delicious and very... More

We found this place while exploring New Orleans. We were traveling with 2 adults and 3 kids (7/5/2). They don't have a kids menu but no one left hungry. Their sandwiches are great sizes. We ended up getting the pastrami sandwich for our kids to split and my wife and I each ordered our own sandwich. A bit more than... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
