We had some fantastic meals in NOLA, and my companions and I thought Compere Lapin was probably the best. So it seems Nina Compton deserves the James Beard Chef of the South award. The restaurant was conveniently located near our hotel, the Loews. The ambience...More

This restaurant is in a gorgeous space in a cool hotel (the Old No 77 Hotel). We enjoyed some of the food, particularly a side dish of black-eyed peas with smoked bacon and string beans (really tasty). We also really liked the Curried Goat with...More

I ate here a few weeks ago to celebrate a birthday with friends. The food, atmosphere, cocktails, and service was all excellent. The curried goat was an interesting yummy dish. My only regret was not getting a chance to try the desserts. Will return for...More

On our last night in NOLA we happened in to Compere Lapin, and boy are we glad we did. First off, our server, Mignon, was the best... extremely helpful and very personable. She pointed us in the right direction for drinks and food. Everything we...More

A large dinner party with a preset menu, served family style. Started with awesome appetizers and salads. Then the entrees arrived. The chicken was really incredible. The drum (fish) was the best we had in New Orleans. The highlight was definitely the curried goat—just increase!...More

This place is great. Good atmosphere, and great food. They serve these little biscuits + honey butter and bacon butter(!) with the meal. I could eat a dozen of them. The Curried Goat with Sweet Potato Gnocchi is ridiculously delicious. I've eaten it here about...More

Add this place to your must do list! Fresh ingredients and flavorful combinations result in mouthwatering food. The heirloom tomatoes, whipped ricotta and ciabatta are a must as is the Adobo pork tenderloin. Save room for dessert because you’ll want to try the spiced chocolate...More

Compere Lapin delivers on every level. I ate here solo for dinner. I had a great table in the window, the service was perfect (friendly but not hovering), and the food. The FOOD! I haven't been surprised by a chef in quite a while. The...More

Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts

I didn't notice any gloves. I would definitely call the restaurant, ask about gloves but also food that may be used that give the same reaction to latex allergies.

If you have a look at the website, they have their full menu posted online and, having just had a glance at it, there seem to be plenty of gluten-free options. Tripadvisor won't let me post the link, but you can find it by... More
