A simple southern- style sports pub with some decent menu selections, we were in town for business and didn't want to travel too far after a busy day. So the conveniently located Ole Saint (seated just under the Wyndham) was the go. 1 burger, 1...sirloin, 1 shrimp on grits and multiple appetisers and we were pretty happy. This said, it felt like most of the apps as well as the shrimp dishes were pretty much 'phoned in's they were pretty bland and lacked the snappy freshness you'd expect for local cuisine. All in all, it was just okay.More

Ordered surf and turf Poboy and received shrimp poboy. Old bread. My wife was never asked by the older blond bartender if she wanted another beer too busy thinking she was 21 talking to a younger male customer. Would fire her in a heartbeat if...it were my place. Took my food and dumped it before I was done. Never asked how it was. Left and said we will never stop here again. Wisconsin bars and restaurants have much better service than this holeMore

My wife and I enjoyed breakfast so much that we went back for dinner as well. Excellent location in the French quarter. Shrimp and grits in the morning and a pressed pork sandwich in the morning for me. My wife had the omelette with a...side of greens and the Shrimp Remoulade Tower.More

Stopped in for a beer after seeing the BOGO sign out front. The bartender was rude. Asked if everything on tap was beer or if anything was a cider or seltzer. She gave me a funny look like I was stupid and she said no...just beer. My husband and I each had one, they were ok, nothing to write home about. The bartender never checked back in on us and seemed to be rude to other customers too.More

This place is the restaurant for Wyndam Hotel. On a pleasant Mardi Gras Saturday night, the street windows were open and it like a hip cafe. Our server was a cool cat, K, w/ his dark shades and slicked back hair and all. The guy...was a pro and congenial for sure. We ended up ordering a plate of pork medley sliders and they were the bomb!! French fry come-along was like 8 fries, so that was sort of chintzy. They boast of like 50 or 60 beers and have like a dozen TVs going. Sports bar vibe and the place has local favorite, Deuce McCallister as their front guy. You can do a lot worse. Forget that it's a hotel restaurant > enter off Royal and get with it.More

We stopped by for a quick lunch after just arriving in NOLA. Tables are set out in a sports bar type of place with a large central bar area and TVs on the walls. Our server was helpful and efficient. We decided to share some...chicken wings between us then my wife had a chicken Caesar salad and I had the beef Po Boy. All the food was OK but nothing special but was fine for lunch - not sure I would go there for dinner.More

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and

away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
