Mr. B's is definitely fine dining--what makes it so great, though, is that it's also accessible. A great spot for locals celebrating special occasions, romantic dinners, but also the curious tourist who wants to try some elevated creole fare without any haughty pretense. My girlfriend and I came here for her birthday; the cocktails we ordered were excellent and smooth.... More

Always dependable, Mr. B's is a classic standard for Creole cuisine within walking distance of most Canal Street hotels. Great place to start your time in New Orleans and prepare your palate for the wonders of this city. The fried oysters will wow; the gumbo will satisfy; the barbecued shrimp will excite. Not the best but a sure thing.

One of our best meals in the French Quarter was had here! My son had a 10oz burger, wife had Gumbo and seared fish and I had their specialty BBQ shrimp! WOW! Everything was on point, no regrets eating here! Flavor, Quality, Ambiance, History, Service; its all GREAT! Come in, you won't regret it.

I ordered the Pork Chop which was unbelievable 12 oz. bone on full of flavor. It was served quickly and efficiently by the expert staff. The Wedge Salad was great I asked for the Italian Vinaigrette which was a good choice. For our last night in NOLA this was by far the best meal out of our 6 day stay.

Chose this one based on reviews, and food was very good. Steak flavorful, and fairly tender. Spinach was delicious. Could do potatoes so much better. The real issue for us was the claustrophobic setting. Our table was crammed into a space much too small. It was too warm inside, and too noisy. They need to remove a few tables. It... More

We had Easter Sunday brunch at Mr. B's. It was delicious - not a typical buffet, but an a la carte menu with good choices. There was also a trio of gentlemen playing and singing - family friendly place, and their home made bread delivered in individual bags, is decadent.,.

Easter weekend Saturday night in New Orleans with no dinner reservations... not a good thing. Mr. B's was nearby our hotel, the JW Marriott. We walked over to the restaurant at prime time - 7:30 PM. We asked if we could get a table. They said the wait would be 20 - 30 minutes. We were seated in less that... More

This restaurant was recommended by a friend. Wonderful food and over the top awesome service. We had several appetizers and all were really delicious. Drank some wine and also had a few great desserts to share. The BBQ shrimp was wonderful but a bit messy.

I was hungry after a day of walking the Quarter reading, soI stopped in for some seafood gumbo. It's pretty good, though there are oysters (which is doesn't say on the menu). Fransisco had me taken care of well. Nice quiet corner to read while I relaxed and had dinner. Very friendly and lots of teamwork.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
