My wife and I had one of the best meals we have ever had here. She had the braised short rib which was huge and delicious and I had the princess cut(about 14 oz) prime rib which melted in my mouth. The grits we shared as a side and we were stuffed. Excellent. If I could give this place more... More

Although not the highest rated steak joint in the quarter, we still had a fantastic meal and though our service got off to a slow start, Richard, our waiter, was a wonderful service representative that harkened back to days when crumb brushes and attention to detail were the norm. Wife had the turtle soup with Sherry, then the double chop.... More

I did not eat here so can't speak to the food. It was a very quiet place for drinks if you want to actually hear other people talk. Drinks were well made. Service was pretty slow. The bartender and waitress both seemed drunk on Easter Sunday which was strange. Also, they were talking to people(friends??) for long periods rather than... More

We stayed in the Omni Royal Orleans so this was convenient and very good. We had breakfast, lunch, dinner and cocktails a number of times during our 9 day stay in the Omni. We were never disappointed!

Hands down the best restaurant in the Crescent City! The food was as excellent as the service and don't even get me started on the deserts, if ya can get one of each ;). Definitely worth the money and a must if you come to New Orleans!

This is the kind of place where the staff really cares about what they are doing. The steak I ordered, which was the chef special of the day, was cooked perfectly and had amazing flavor. But not only that, the chef was courteous enough to come over himself and see if I enjoyed it. It's that kind of service and... More

The Rib Room was okay, but the reason for this review is to tell you we went on a "Hurricane Comparison Tour", and the Hurricaines at the Rib Room bar were poor. Compared to Pat O'Brien's, and MANY other spots, I will tell you that the Huuricanes at the bar at the pool at the Omni Royal Orleans were by... More

We have been going here for years for lunch when visitors are in town. We went last month to have our usual lunch only to find out that they did not have guyere cheese for the PO boys, like we always get. After waiting 30 minutes, we were told this. This cheese is what makes the PO boy so special.... More

My wife and I dined at the Rib Room last night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. After the music and excitement of the French Quarter Jazz Festival it was an oasis of calm. The decor and atmosphere is a nice sedate change from the lively hustle and bustle outside. My wife suffers from wheat intolerance but on explaining this to... More

We enjoyed dinner here one evening and the food and service were great! Large portions, so bring your appetite. A shout out to Hugo, he was an interesting server and made the meal more enjoyable.

Description
For 50 years The Rib Room has enjoyed its reputation for outstanding food and service. Patrons have found the massive windows facing Royal Street the perfect backdrop for Crescent City dining. The woody, Old English atmosphere and high ceiling invite guests to sit back and stay awhile. The softly lit and equally comfortable Rib Room bar offers the ideal setting for sophisticated beverages and extensive wine cellar selections. In the restaurant's wine cellar, diners requiring privacy may choose from the "Pipkin", "Wine Cellar", or "Roundtable" rooms, perfect for small gatherings; each discreetly removed from the main dining floor. On the upper level of the Rib Room we feature a private room for groups up to 40 guests. Winner of the prestigious Zagat Award, The Rib Room offers classics such as slow roasted prime rib of beef, aged steaks, fresh Louisiana seafood, and champagne brunch on Sunday.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
