We visited The Old Coffee Pot on a Saturday based on recommendations. I was excited they have a little outdoor seating area but even though all of the tables were empty, they were all dirty and covered with dishes. It seemed like no one worked there as it was several minutes before any staff member came to talk to us... More

My wife and I were recommended to The Old Coffee Pot by a guest relations person from our hotel. We were very excited to try some local breakfast close to our Hotel to start our day. When we arrived we were not greeted and waited for about 10 minutes while watching what looked like a very unorganized operation. We decided... More

Favorable reviews online led us to Old Coffee Pot Restaurant. Our experience was not a great one. After waiting in line, the wait staff was not overly courteous, taking our order took a bit which was okay but our food came and the order was incorrect. Given it took awhile to get it we decided not to send it back.... More

We found this place by accident and we are SO glad that we did. Lunch (po-boys) was exceptional - highly recommend.

Had brunch on our last day of our visit. Eggs Benedict on crab cake was amazing. Service is down-home friendly and if your lucky you will be blessed with a song. Will be back again!

We came here originally with a Food tour group (TasteBuds). The Gumbo was absolutely incredible, best I've ever had. We will definitely be back!

Stopped hear a week before Mardi Gras festivities to sample good New Orleans fare. What passed for jambalaya was nothing more than 3 ice cream scoops of Spanish rice wth 3 thin 1/2 slices of annoullie sausage. We have had real jambalaya since with sausage, small dice "trinity" and real creole flavouring. The gumbo sampler is a total rip off... More

I'm a fan. The OCP is best when it's not crazy busy and you are looking to eat leisurely. Anytime I see someone in there looking miserable I can tell they were looking for an in-and-out breakfast. The staff is fun but don't exactly fly around. These ladies have been working while. Its part of the charm. If you want... More

The waitstaff are like family ... amazing women who've worked at the venue for decades. Every food option is good; people rave about the "lost bread" and I have always enjoyed the eggs sardou. Drinks are made well (Bloody Mary is my favorite).

The Old Coffee Pot, located on St. Peter Street located next to Pat O Brian's and right off Bourbon Street is a great location for tourists and locals alike. The restaurant founded and established in 1894, is well known for serving one of the best breakfasts in New Orleans, with famous dishes such as the Crab cake Jonathan and traditional dishes such as the callas cakes. We also serve great lunch, with a special that includes a half of po-boy, a cup of gumbo and a side of fries that has become a crowd favorite and is one of the best samplers in the neighborhood. Our evening menu features the "Triple D', a dish that was featured on Food Network's "Dinners, Drive-In's, and Dives". Alongside this dish are other reasonably priced dishes of Creole and Cajun cuisine to satisfy anyone's appetite. We also offer a variety of beverages and cocktails, traditional mixed drinks and wines to compliment any dish. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, an aesthetically pleasing courtyard and a unique and traditional dining room with an atmosphere filled with New Orleans tradition and Southern charm. The Old Coffee Pot also offers additional services such as private parties and catered banquets in the river room or courtyard, reservations, and extensive one on one cooking classes hosted by Taste bud Tours.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
