Our company rents out the Embers (now named The Cornet) every year for a corporate hospitality event. The staff is great, the food is wonderful, and the location can't be beat.

The food here is tasty and delish. If you like sea food this is the place to eat, warm and comfortable surrounding and easy to get to. Just walking distance located in the French Quarters.

We went to The Ember's because we wanted to sit out on the gallery to dine. To start, the gentleman at the door was not very kind when we asked about getting a table outside. The food was nothing to write home about. The gumbo and ettoufe were bland. It tasted like it came out of a box. The crawfish... More

Fantastic little place that has alligator sausage the really hits the spot, along with decently priced drinks at the bar. Right on Bourbon Street, but not too crowded or noisy. Welcome respite.

The location on Bourbon Street is awesome. Sit on the balcony and see all the happenings down below. The fried oysters were absolutely outstanding. I ordered the seafood platter. I liked the shrimp and catfish, but the oysters were my favorite.

I absolutely love the steaks at the Embers House. I had my 13th birthday there many many moons ago and the quality of food and staff has never changed. One of my favorite places to go.

The service here was awful! I felt like an inconvenience more than anything. It took over 20 minutes to get an over priced beer, and once the food arrived, we were completely left alone with empty drinks until we were done. The po boys we had were tasty but there were hardly any shrimp in them. I'm used to being... More

Nice view over Bourbon street. Sit outside at the terrace and enjoy the street sounds ;-) Food is simple but tasteful.

If you find your self on Bourbon St. The Embers was a wonderful place to eat. Many items to chose form and, a must to try local favorites. The food can be a little spicy but very good.

Prime rib. That's all I have to say! I fly into town and literally, this is my first stop! Great gumbo, garlic mashed potatoes, bread pudding...oh, and you can sit on the balcony, too!

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
