Three couples had lunch here as Felix was closed. Glad we came--Oysters were excellent as was a shrimp Poor Boy. Service was attentive and efficient. The lady at the hostess stand was not very friendly--told us it would be a 30-40 minute wait--apparently the manager...overheard this, talked with her and then we were seated in less than 10 minutes. He was personable and thanked us for coming in.More

Ate there before going to the Saenger. Food was good but pricy. My friend and I had a cocktail, each a salad and split fried shrimp. Bill was $70. Very clean and elegant place

The Sazerac was good but the shrimp po'boy was overly salty, almost inedible. The website advertises happy hour but they are not doing it. They're parking validation is a great deal though if you have a car and need to park in the French quarter.

This was the first restaurant we ate at in town. It was so good the and the atmosphere was amazing. The staff was so great, we where seated rite away. The waitress was so sweet and helpful with our food choices and my shellfish allergy!...We shared our meals and they split them for us in the kitchen. We had the blt chopped salad, the Bourbon house burger and for dessert we had The pineapple upside down bread pudding. The salad was so fresh and crisp, the dressing was amazing and flavorful. The burger was cooked to order perfectly and fries that came with it where the best in town! (Maybe a little salt for some). Bread pudding is big down here and this pineapple upside down bread pudding with bourbon sauce was out is this world yummy!!More

Return visit, have had great experience in the past. Visited for happy hour at the bar (3-6pm) and arrived at 3:45. As described in name, there is a wall of bourbon to choose from, various draft beer, full menu and happy hour. Bar was full...so we waited for someone to get up (open seating at bar). While we waited we noticed a sign designating an area for drinks to go, so stood there, credit card in hand for 20 min.. i have heard the narrative about short staffing in many places but that was not the case here. Three bartenders casually walked around the bar and refused to serve me and other non-seated guests. One in particular, Emily, just complained about her job the entire the time. At one point all three stood in a circle talking about personal stuff.. no drink. Ultimately got a seat at the bar, and sat there for 15 minutes with no service. After some time, Perry, the "Mother Shucker" oyster guy noticed us, commented about how long we had been waiting, and retrieved a bartender to help us. Perry was the highlight of this visit. We ordered drinks (Old Fashioned), Ceviche, shrimp and oysters). The oysters and shrimp were terrific, ceviche was average. Perry is a character and worth visiting with.. all other staff are rude and dont care about serving guests.. we left here and went to Mr. B's (one block away) sat at the bar and had an amazing time!!More

I absolutely love Bourbon House! It is the best! I seriously could eat here every single day. They have the absolute best chargrilled oysters! On this trip I had the pleasure of eating here twice, one of which was on my birthday! Thank you Bourbon...House for never disappointing!More

After looking at the enormous line at ACME we opted for the Bourbon House next door and had the best meal in all the places we'd eaten at in New Orleans. Our waiter Jarrett was extremely cool and attentive

Exceptionally rude hostess and manager. Place closes arbitrarily despite posted hours. They claim they do not have the staff to operate. Hostess, when she finally appeared, yelled at prospsective patrons that there would be no further food service shortly after 8 p.m. Expected much, much...better from a restaurant that carries the Brennan name! STAY AWAY!!!More

On Friday, July 16th around 6:15pm, my wife and I visited this restaurant. We were staying at the Astor Crowne Plaza hotel to which this restaurant is connected. We walked into the restaurant directly from the hotel lobby and proceeded to the front of the...restaurant to Check in with the host/hostess. There was a woman working at the front that was so rude and condescending that we will never return to this restaurant. I wish I had gotten her name but I didn’t. All we did is ask if seating for two was available or if it was best to make a reservation for later that evening. In a condescending manner she told us there was no way we were going to be seated or even placed on a wait list because they were so busy. We actually apologized to her for not having a reservation and explained we were staying at the hotel and the front desk had recommended…… she cut us off mid-sentence saying they were not tied to the hotel and are a separate entity so that didn’t matter. We asked her if she was aware of the tone she was using and that it wasn’t appreciated. We asked a different employee for the manager and made him aware of his employee’s lack of tact. He apologized and offered to do his best to seat us if we returned in about an hour. We thanked him for his offer but declined because there are numerous other choices in town and the only reason we asked for a manager was to make him aware that he may have a frontline staff member that is costing them customers. We chose to go to “Mr, B’s Bistro” and had an amazing experience there.More

I went with my husband for a good meal and good bourbon, neither of which we got. We went in and it was empty but there was still a 20 minute wait at lunch time. Then my husband ordered Blantons at the bourbon house and...they were out so we asked for a recommendation. She recommended a 10 dollar bottle of bourbon as a comprable that they charged $10 per glass. It was awful. The crab bisque and crab fingers appetizer was ok but I ordered the blackened fish. I lived in FL for 15 years and have had this dish many times as well as know my way around a kitchen - I got burnt fish. I sent it back and the chef came out all mad and asked me if I knew what “blackened” meant. I said I sure do, it means spiced and seared, not burnt. That dish was just awful. He looked at me and said no, it means carmelization that happens when you cook it a certain way. Ok “chef” burnt is still burnt, not carmelized and not at all spiced. They made me a different fish and comped my meal but I definitely did not want to eat it after being belittled by the chef when I know what I am talking about. Sorry you didnt check yourself but you sent out burnt food and need to lean what blackened is if it is on the menu. Reading these reviews your restaurant has a ways to go in customer service.More

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
