About
Our coffee is sourced locally from roasters with over 30 years of experience roasting their own blends. Café Beignet is proud to continue the tradition of serving Chicory Coffee, first introduced by the French to New Orleans when it was still a colony of France. Chicory is a plant that is roasted through a similar process as coffee beans. Coffee and chicory are grounded separately and then combined, resulting in a most unique taste. New Orleanians have developed a love for its bolder flavor and we hope you will too! Since 1990, Café Beignet has four locations in the French Quarter with another on the way. Each of our locations offers something unique to its visitors, including live jazz, cocktails, outdoor seating (with pet friendly areas), and classic New Orleans dishes to complement our beignets. With an abundance of local flavors, you will find only the best in food and drinks at Café Beignet!

My wife and I decided to go to New Orleans in August (2023) - the travel rates are much lower and places not as busy (of course, some are on limited hours as a result). The down side is that it was so very hot, ranging from high 80s and 90s to over 100F and very humid. We still had a great time and enjoyed the food as well as generally excellent service everywhere. There are a few different spots (three at least) near the market and each morning I went to one and grabbed coffee (with chicory) and croissants or muffins. Every day, it was tasty and the service good.

Nice quiet place in the French Quarter, where you can eat NOLA dishes. The dishes are ordered and then they are brought to the tables, which are located in the garden around the musicians, we took 4 dishes, very good but not very large and famous very good beignets. excellent prices

Right across Bourbon St. from The Royal Sonesta, I walked in at 7:15 for beignets, but was told they didn't open until 8:00--however, their Royal Ave. site opened at 7:00. Confused about how to get there, I was actually led by a fast walking female employee right to the door of their sister location on Royal St. What a wonderful gesture to an obvious clueless vacationer: a true NOLA lagniappe. Thank you, thank you to that woman (I never got her name, but she mentioned having teenagers). Peggy Seydow

My daughter and I stopped by for lunch. We ordered 2 sandwiches and asked for no pickle or sauce. The coffees quickly arrived followed by our sandwiches. The sandwiches both had herb mayo despite us asking for it without. We mentioned it to a young staff member who was rude and obviously couldn’t be bothered but a lady behind the counter intervened and the sandwiches were exchanged. The coffee and food were OK but nothing special.

Terrible experience. Waiting in line for 10 minutes just to order then waiting 25 minutes at a table until I realized that my order (a croissant with omelette and a portion of donuts) had been skipped. Not a single apology from the staff for this. Instead, the same hostile and totally disillusioned face that we see on all the employees. They must be treated very badly to have such a sinister appearance. Food below average. The donuts are far from the quality of Café du Monde. Not well cooked. Unbelievable that people still come to this hateful place. Of course there is the music, quite good... But this place really doesn't deserve your money... Go elsewhere!

This was one in my to do list while in New Orleans after seeing it in a post on Facebook. Lovely place, food average, had to ask for replacement sandwich after mums had parsley mayo on which she cannot have, despite asking for no tomato, lettuce or sauces on it when I placed the order. Also had to ask where the replacement was after waiting a while and the member of staff huffed and puffed at me despite standing in front of the display cabinet with a spray bottle and cloth doing nothing and gave me a glare like it was too much trouble to provide anything remotely resembling customer service even though I said excuse me and please. She had the same attitude with 3 other groups of customers, one of which only asked for some mayo and on turning her back to the customers she had a scowl on her face and was complaining about having to get some mayo for the customers. Overall attitude of staff disgusting. Would not recommend this particular Coffee Shop to anyone. Go to a different store.

No visit to New Orleans is considered to be perfect unless there’s a stop at the Bourbon Street Cafe Beignet! There is little that can compare to sitting in their courtyard with a coffee, maybe some breakfast, muffaletta, red beans & rice, or other menu item, not to mention the best beignets in New Orleans! And to top it off, live jazz beginning at 10 AM!! Yes, you can also indulge in other adult beverages during your visit. But don’t miss the beignets!! They came out perfectly fried, light and airy on the inside, and thoroughly coated in powdered sugar. Do not waste your time getting beignets elsewhere - these are the BEST!!! Cafe Beignets does have other locations in the French quarter if you need a bite but the Bourbon Street location is the only one with jazz. This is now on my “MUST visit every trip” list.

We decided to hit this spot seeing as we had already tried Cafe Du Monde. I’ll say the coffee wasn’t quite as good, but the beignets were as good or better and came with a seriously delicious chocolate sauce on the side. The courtyard is beautiful and they even had some infrared heaters - a very kind touch on a cold morning.

First time in New Orleans and first time having a beignet. A couple of employees bringing food out were extremely rude and should not be working any customer service positions. Kept saying in a very rude tone “scuse me” “SCUSE ME” and then heard him tell one customer “you should move then” We were there 9/16/2023

This cafe is easy to find on Bourbon Street with the statues of the musicians at the entrance. It was outdoors but had umbrellas at each table to shield the sun from the table. Orders are placed in the rear of the restaurant and brought to the table. There was live music which we enjoyed. We went here for a snack and opted for the chocolate beignet. If you are a chocolate lover and beignet lover this is the perfect combination. The beignets were large and puffy with a generous amount of chocolate and topped off with powered sugar. Loved it! Their menu had plenty of options both food and drinks.

Food was horrible. They brought out a dried-up microwaved bowl of jambalaya. that tasted like it came out of a box a week ago. dried up chicken pieces. Customer services was horrible. This women that looked like she just got our of prison dropped the bowl of prison food on my table and said I could walk over to counter to get a spoon! Will not go back and encourage you to avoid this place. the bartender was rude too. these people hate their jobs.

First time got beignets service was great and delicious. Went back one evening for gumbo and sandwich and fries to go it took over 45 min. Sandwich was heard and dry fries were warm and soggy. Would not recommend . People in front of me asked for money back I should have followed suit.

It's a pity that the good service, good music and convenient, vibe location was ruined by the truly awful food. We ordered four plates the least offensive of which was a sandwich made on a croissant which wasn't great and was missing a few of the stated ingredients. The other dishes being their (Stodgy stale tasting) caramel and pecan glazed doughnuts, dry over battered shrimp platter, and tiny yet horrendous Gumbo which was essentially a spot of rice covered in tasteless watery fluid (dishwater?) with the few floating fragments possibly being sausage, ranged from inedible to disappointing. New Orleans is renowned for it's excellent Cajun cuisine and I was so looking forward to my first Gumbo in New Orleans, so disappointing!

Don’t get me wrong, Cafe DuMonde is a definite must for nostalgic beignet but it’s a quick in and out. Cafe Beignet is where you go to relax, enjoy good food including beignets, and listen to good live music during the day. European experience that feeds all the senses while your there. Highly recommend it.

We loved the atmosphere and rare sounds of jazz (yes, on Bourbon Street!) at this beautiful patio area, so we were excited for our first beignets of our visit. It seemed to have taken 15 to 20 minutes to get. And they were overcooked and so large that the inside wasn't cooked right. We were disappointed but went to the competitor the next day and got our fix, understanding what the excitement is all about in NOLA.

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
