Recommended by the apartment owner where we were staying. So glad we went the food was delicious, reasonably priced and huge portions. It was great to be in a restaurant where the locals eat and away from the madness of Bourbon Street. A must if you are in the area.

Our family has been going here forever, it is a perfect example of a NO neighborhood restaurant. Great food, friendly people, relaxed environment.

I had the house Menuiere and it was the best fish that I had in a week of visiting New Orleans. Others in our party had the Egg plant and the shrimp and pasta. Everyone thought that the food was exceptional. The portions are huge and the prices more than reasonable. The service was the only thing that could have... More

Our B&B hosts love this place so we were especially disappointed that it was mediocre. A wasted meal in New Orleans is a crying shame! But the locals frequent this 1932 restaurant. Most of them are quite overweight, so if huge portions are your thing, go for it!

Mandina's is a locals favorite up Canal Street from the CBD and an excellent choice for large portions at a reasonable price...free parking and a friendly bar are some of the benefits as you may have to wait a bit for a table, especially during Mardi Gras season.

The Stand Up bar welcomes you upon arrival. The large open dinning room provides seating for over a hundred. The professional staff have worked there for years, at this previous grocery store. Plates are large, specials each night. Daube is a must.

This is an old family restaurant in mid town. The service was excellent, very attentive. The food there is always delicious. Their gumbo is the best I have eaten. You can look around and see friends meeting, visitors and families enjoying a great restaurant.
