We are from Arizona and it was raining pretty hard so I don't know how people arrive dressed nicely to a restaurant and NOT look like drowned rats. Once I complimented the hostess, she was very sweet even though we didn't have a reservation. Definitely more formal and smaller portions as similar high end restaurants are but the food was... A 99 year old treasure. NOLA is 299 years old and this restaurant is 99. I turned over my dinner menu to Jonny O and to no surprise it was over the top. Get here. Let them run. It's all a true treat. Seriously worth ever second and penny.

I get to NO periodically and usually reserve one night to head to Arnaud's. It is always good service, nice atmosphere and the food is great too! Service is prompt, attentive without being annoying. You can count on the food being well prepared and a true NO dinner experience! It is a bit quieter than some of the other restaurants... More

To get the full experience come an hour before your reservation and visit their Mardi Gras museum. Then, head to the French 75 Bar for custom cocktails. Everything on their menu is superb. I had seafood all week so on this particular evening I ordered their Filet Mignon. It was fantastic! This place is not a steakhouse but it blew... More

10 of us visiting New Orleans, looking for music and good food. Booked the Jazz Bistro about a month in advance for a Wednesday night dinner, and then toured their Mardi Gras museum upstairs after dinner (complimentary for diners). The food, service and environment here was exceptional and typical 'white glove' service. Our wine and drinks were served promptly, followed... More

We went to Arnaud's based on a recommendation by the hotel. Definitely worthwhile. We shared a crab dip that was very good. We had the cobia and chicken entrees. Both were very good. They are known for their desserts. We had the bananas foster. Outstanding and a show with flames to boot. Would definitely return.

Very nice atmosphere. One of the more beautiful restaurants in New Orleans. We ate... Arnaud's Oysters (5 different oysters) - Very good. When the waiter says the plate is how, we normally say, "Whatever," and grab it with both hands as if it were a warm bagel. However, DO NOT touch the plate. For some reason, Arnaud's has decided to... More

This bar is attached to Arnaud's restaurant...We went for drinks only and sat at the bar which was built in 1800's & is a little more laid back than restaurant...they do bar snacks...we had a Sazerac a French 75...both really nice and was not prepared to leave NOLA without at least trying the Sazerac...both cocktails were really nice and well... Having dined in Savannah and Charleston, the logical choice was to experience the best New Orleans has to offered - this wasn't it. After walking tour of facility two days prior, the wife and I scheduled window seat 630pm. Notes were taken, promises made, and still Arnaud's failed to accommodate upon arrival, insisting the Non-Window table was indeed a Window... More

Arnaud's is a NoLa institution, so we were not disappointed with this classic and classy jazz brunch. There was the traditional brunch, complete with NoLa favorites like shrimp remoulade and veal grillades & gravy over grits, alongside traditional eggs benedict, all in the unparalleled atmosphere of this iconic restaurant. It was clear some of the patrons dined there for brunch... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
