We chose Muriel's Restaurant, on Jackson Square, based on TripAdvisor ratings & reviews. We stopped by a little before dinner seating began to make a reservation. The very kind staff told us to come by a few minutes before 5pm and they would seat us...immediately. The decor and ambiance are perfect for the French Quarter environment. The wait staff was attentive & efficient. Our entrees included Pesto Linquine & Wood Grilled Pork Chop, with accompanying Muriel's House Salad, Grilled Asparagus, Grilled Gulf Shrimp, and Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes were all delicious. Everything was seasoned & cooked to perfection. We couldn't have been happier with our dining experience at Muriel's Jackson Square!More

Oh man, my friend recommended the place to me, and I am so glad we went. Made a reservation, were promptly seated in a very New Orleans-like room, with interesting portraits and paintings all around. Service was fantastic, both our drinks server and the food...server were the two of the most kind and funny guys we've met on the trip. And the food. Our starters, his turtle soup and mine crawfish and goat cheese crepes, definitely set our expectations high. The Pork Chop is one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. Smoked, and then seared, I mean, I am honestly at a loss of words, and photos don't do it justice. I gave my cousin a piece, and as much as he loved his salmon, his eye popped out of his head at the flavors. If you are in town, do yourself a favor and make a reservation here.More

We had a wonderful mean at Muriel's! The bread pudding was the best dessert of the trip! Wait staff was attentive and kind. Our original reservation was for 745pm and we arrived very early for 6pm and were nicely accommodated. Between us, we had the...Shrimp and Grits, Pesto Linguine and Chicken. All were very delicious! The seance rooms upstairs were a bit scary but worth seeing. The haunted history of the building is interesting. Thanks again Muriel's for a memorable evening!More

Was in town a few weeks ago and this place was highly recommended. Got a nice table and the waiter was great. It was down hill from there. Got wedge salad with blue cheese dressing. Was so salty I couldn't finish it.. Wife said Her's...was the same although a different salad. When my pork chop came, I had trouble cutting it. Tough as shoe leather.I am not one to send anything back but should have..More

Had high expectations based on recommendation from tour guide. Right off bat waitor put us off. He would disappear for long stretches. He would talk to us by flying by throwing comments that left my daughter and I tense and on edge. We hoped food...would balance the strange service experience. Unfortunately, no. Chips with artichoke dip were stale. Mushroom omelet was cold and of a texture and quality I'd find at a chain restaurant. We had better bloody marys at the to go places throughout French Quarter. Avoid.More

Great atmosphere, beautiful decor and delicious food. We sat at the bar in the back and enjoyed the wine and cocktails too. Very impressed by the skills of the female bartender. Absolute must go!

Best meal of the trip. Space was lovely with and old time feel but not musty. Our waiter was super knowledgeable and helpful. Appetizer's and entree's were really well prepared and spaced perfectly. Gumbo soup was best on the trip. Fish and beef dishes were...excellent. Bread pudding was best ever! Would have gone here two nights if went here on first night instead of last.More

2nd time we've gone to this restaurant. Everything is delicious. I had the blackened fish, my husband had the filet mignon. The sauce on the filet mignon was delicious. Both were cooked perfectly. Our favorite thing is the Rum Bread Pudding. It's to die for!

This was my 2nd visit to Muriel's. We had a party of 8 many who had never been to New Orleans and only one who had been to Muriel's. The group talked about this dinner for days. The food across the board was excellent. The...staff was friendly and attentive. Everyone did the 3 course dinner and there was a wide variety of food selected. The crepes, gumbo and pork chop were huge hits. For dessert everything was amazing. The break pudding was my favorite and worth a trip just for that! So if you are in the Quarter have dinner at Muriels, go to the seance room for a drink and then walk down the block to Jackson Square for a carriage ride. You will not be disappointed.More
