Heard about this place while riding the St Charles trolley. Thought we would stop in and check it out and we are glad we did! Counter service only but added to the whole experience. Everyone was talking with everyone. The burgers were fantastic! Rave reviews on the omelette she too! Leave room for their pecan pie. They grill it and... More

Quick, diner food. Clean and classic. Amazing burgers. Get the cheeseburger po'boy if you're really hungry. Great spot. Waiter was purposefully snarky-it was part of the charm of the place. We loved it, will be back.

This diner has no tables, so everyone sits at the counter, giving the place a friendly feel where you feel inclined to speak to the people sitting next to you. Staff was very friendly and playful, yet seemed serious about pleasing the customer. Atmosphere is casual and local. Prices are reasonable for more than adequate portions, and food is good.... More

This was a very unique diner. It's like stepping back in time. The seating area is small and only counter seating available. The food was not the best but pretty good. I imagine it's better after a night of drinking. The line goes out the door.

Service was speedy, fun, and food was delicious! I had a mushroom omelet that was one of the best I've ever had and my husband had eggs and grits both he said were great. Counter service is like watching a perfectly tuned orchestra or a well-oiled machine. We timed our visit about 10:30 AM which was perfect because the line... More

The experience and food were worth queuing for. The buzz started in the queue of people, most had been before! The staff were very friendly while being very busy. The whole kitchen operation happened in front of you and the results were very tasty. I had my first and best po boy and the omelettes were good.

Went here for food after a party got out and had a great Mexican omelette. The rest of the food, my family ordered was good. The service was attentive and helpful. We did not have to wait long to be seated.

No tables and booths here! The entire dining area consists of winding counters lined with stools that remind you of diners of old. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast of grits/eggs/sausage/toast while being entertained by the banter between the waiters and cooks. If you are looking for romance- take a stroll along the RiverWalk downtown- but for good food and fun..... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
