Chose this restaurant because of it location and previous reviews. Very attentive wait staff, but was disappointed. Ordered swordfish which when served was cold in the center when sent back it was still only warm. Third time was a charm but by then I felt rushed as my wife was long done her meal.

Ate there our first night we arrived. Our server was attentive and down to earth. Not your pompous type typically found at your top rated restaurants. The biscuits that were continuously brought around were the best we've ever had. I had scallops and a mushroom risotto that was amazing. My husband has swordfish that was served with shrimp. He was... More

I called to reserve a table after reading reviews on trip advisor the night before our reservation. The girl on the phone was very pleasant when booking our reservation. We arrived at 5:00 for our 5:00 reservation, and was seated promptly. The gentleman took our coats. We ordered a bottle of Cake bread Chardonnay which is excellent. The server was... More

Okay, this place was definitely hyped up. No doubt about that. But, sometimes, that is for a reason. The hype is real. The staff was exceptional, the decor and the fact that it is only a stones throw from the depravity occurring in bourbon street add to the experience. The lobster rolls could be the best appetizer I have ever... More

Dinner at GW Fins was an amazing experience. The food was phenomenal and the service was top notch. The menu was filled with appetizing seafood dishes, all of which I wanted to try. This being my first visit to the restaurant, I went with their seemingly most popular dishes: the Lobster Dumplings and the Scalibut. The Lobster Dumplings were savory:... More

We weren't exactly hungry when we dined at GW Fins, which is our fault. We skipped lunch and had to get something for late lunch. So, by the time we ordered something at GW Fins, we were in a hurry to get the meal so that we can drive back to Atlanta. We ordered only one appetizer and entree. We... More

We have traveled extensively and food is our focus wherever we go, so this is really saying something. The place was perfection, from the made to specifications martini to the sublime creme brûlée, all crunchy sugar and creamy custard. My husband does not drink and I love wine so it was a dream come true that virtually every wine was... More

I was in town on business and decided to try this restaurant since so highly recommended and was disappointed. I had the sheepshead fish and was just okay, nothing special. One of my employees had the drum fish and it was greasy and he didn't even finish his meal. I have to say I wish I'd chosen a different restaurant... More

We went early and enjoyed their bar scene for a for minutes before having one of our better fine dining experiences in New Orleans. Wait staff is incredible. They describe in detail every dish, its preparation and cheerfully offer to accommodate any dietary constraints. We especially enjoyed the lobster dumplings. Seafood is their specialty and it is all fresh and... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
