On the surface this looks like a good place. But.... It never seems to live up to the expectations. You get a decent amount of food but it just isn't very good. I have given this place about 5 second chances just because it's in the same building as my office. Think this was my last!

I was testing and needed a quick bite to eat. This was the closest place to grab a bite to eat. The lady who served me was very pleasant and helpul. She explained the specials as far as the sides and main dish were concerned. Very clean also, no major crowd and very inexpensive. Will visit again when I am... More

I almost passed out when our breakfast was $8. We had a breakfast sandwich, coffee, milk and a HUGE homemade banana nut muffin. All was very good and the ladies there were great! Walking distance from Hyatt Regency and Hyatt House.

If your looking for that "A" typical local eatery this is one of the best. Nothing special, vinyl plastic table cloths, order cafeteria style but what you do get is good home cooked food and a lot of it! The Special's tell it all. Local fried chicken, catfish, sausage and red beans galore! All the great southern side dishes to... More

Great little cafe. Has a small hometown feeling in the middle of a big city :) the salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette was great! Very healthy addition to this trip of eating crazy.

A good standard sandwich shop also serves breakfast and coffee to go on this busy street in the Central Business District.

I had the pulled pork with mac & cheese and green beans, while my friend had the baked fish with two mac & cheese. The food was tasty and it is served cafeteria style. The ladies in the counter served us with a smile, even though the line was long. Great place to catch a bite in the New Orleans... More

Staying at the Hyatt Regency, wanted to get out of the sterile environment and get some home cooking . . . walked around the corner to Catty Corner's, in a light sprinkle, but worth the effort! Don't expect all the frills, walk up to the counter (school house style) place your order eat-in or take-out, pay and find a seat... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
