Loved the coffee here, free wifi to work with and great bagels. I can't emphasize how much I loved the New Orleans chicory coffee especially how this coffee shop made it! I got one of their 'flu shots' made with fresh juice and lots of vitamin c and I think it helped! I ordered at croissant at the end.. A... More

Maybe I'm biased because I live around the corner, but Rivista has my favorite breakfast food in the entire city. Their egg-in-a-basket is a regular part of my morning commute, and their weekend brunch menu is fantastic. Also always clean, and a great stagg.

This place saved my skin when my internet cut out and I had some work emails to send out on Christmas eve. I stopped in for a coffee and a snack (ginger muffin), both of which were lovely and the service was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. On the strength of this I stopped in again and had the polenta with... More

Recommended to us by a local before our trip. I had their glorified BLT, and it was delicious. I would recommend this place to a vegetarian or anyone who doesn't think they could have another fried something for breakfast or lunch while on their visit to NOLA. It's fresh, local and delicious!

When I heard one of the best pastry chef's in New Orleans was opening up a bakery, I could not wait! If i could eat everything in one sitting I would! They have great entrees as well but I really come for the mushroom truffle pastry they sell out quick! A regular.

Liked the effort and sincerity of the folks there. All is made fresh on premises and quite good. Coffee is very good, notably the cappuccino. Servings are smallish, but tasty.

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
