The meal was good. We had a variety of different dishes. The staff was wonderful, especially Della. We will be asking for her by name for the rest of our trip.

Had dinner there last night. Colin and David were our servers and did not disappoint. They did an excellent job of being attentive without being obtrusive. The food was delicious, our only comment was that the servings were too large!

My meal, by far, was the best one I had in the city of New Orleans. I had the sausage gumbo and it was delicious...not spicy at all. My beef tornado was done to perfection as was the breast of chicken. The chocolate Creme Brulee was so lovely I took a picture of it! A fabulous meal.

We tried Criollo on a quiet Sunday evening. Only a few tables were occupied but the food did not disappoint. The ambiance was first rate: quiet, classy and comfortable. We tried the grilled oysters and crawfish bisque appetizers - both were delicious. The oysters came heated & smothered in parmesan cheese with a little spinach - fabulous! My wife enjoyed... More

Every course of the meal was simply exquisite! I had the soups Demitasse, a sample of all 3 and all were delicious! The Creole redfish was incredibly good. Service was 5 star.

Nice atmosphere. Food was very good. The sirloin had a unique flavor, but wasn't my favorite. Service was adequate but not memorable

The criollo burger was outstanding. We also ate breakfast here and it was delicious. We were offered a type of donut with melted praline sauce on the side- yummmmyummm

We have eaten here 4 times in the last three days (breakfast twoce, lunch once and dinner once). The food is excellent, well prepared and presented. Fernando was especially attentive and eager to accommodate our special preparation requests. I highly recommend it.

We just enjoyed a week's stay at the Monteleone and had breakfast at the Criollo daily. What a lovely restaurant! The decor is elegant but not stuffy; classy and tasteful, and filled with artifacts of famous writers who were hotel guests on display in glass cabinets. The breakfast menu had something for everyone; if you want to dine light there... More

We visited New Orleans to celebrate our 40th anniversary and had the good fortune to stay at the Hotel Monteleone, the in-house restaurant of which is Criollo. We ate dinner there the first and last evenings of our stay in New Orleans. The food is spectacular and we were lucky enough to have Dwayne and Dahlia taking care of us.... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
