We visited Cochon a couple of weeks ago and for the most part were very pleased. The second you walk in the door you are greeted with a most delicious aroma. We started with a few before dinner drinks which did not disappoint. The bartender definitely knows their stuff! The boucherie plate was just amazing, we loved every single bite!... More

I have been to this restaurant a few times over the last several years. I continue to come back as my first visit was one of the finest meals I have had in New Orleans, but my recent visits have not matched that first meal. It is certainly a place to be seen and is not a quiet restaurant, reminds... More

This restaurant is one of the top 5 I have ever eaten at in over 20 years of business travel. We went early on a Saturday with a reservation, service was spot on, but the food just exceptional.

We arrived at Cochon around 1030 on a Saturday and almost every table was still full. The smell of smoky wood upon entering was intoxicating. We ordered the smoked ribs for appetizer which were truly amazing. Fact: smoked ribs are the best kind of ribs, and these were the best smoked ribs I've ever had. Great smoky flavor, tender and... We ordered gumbo, wood-fired oysters, crawfish pie, waygu beef tri tip and oyster bacon sandwich. Everything is delicious. The hurricane is different, more like old fashion.

Girl...y'all...Get. Your. Life. At Cochon. Everything is amazing. We started with the fried oysters, crawfish potpie, and fried alligator. The chili garlic sauce on the oysters was incredible, the fried alligator was fried to perfection, and the crawfish potpie was savory and spicy. For entrees we had the rabbit and dumplings, pork ribs, brisket, cochon, and fried boudin. I don't... More

Had dinner here and it was delicious. Chilli tomato soft shell crab salad (whole crab size of a hand, not a those baby crabs), porchetta with crackling seasoned beautifully.

I've been New Orleans more times than I care to admit and the first place I go upon exiting the plane is Cochon. Don't think, just order. Thank me later.

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
