I expected interesting--if not revolutionary--food on my fourth meal at Maurepas, however, the evening was spoiled by our server who seemed to have only one gear. I am very fond of the trend toward good food in a casual environment (the table next to us...More

Good food! Fresh and creative. Excellent service and friendly atmosphere. (Wesley rocks!) Out of the beaten tracks and a bit hidden in a more residential area of NOLA, this place is a pure jem!

I like to eat well. Maurepas Foods surprised me with the best single dish I've eaten this year (maybe longer)--a side dish of chanterelle mushrooms, ricotta with basil and fresh peaches--that tickled my palate and overwhelmed my senses in the most pleasurable way possible. Other...More

One of the most creative minds in New Orleans today is Maurepas chef, Michael Doyle. He finally has his own restaurant in the Bywater, and it is impossible to find anything that disappointed. Even the cocktails reached Sam Ross (of Milk and Honey, now Attaboy...More

I’m not sure we would have found this restaurant had we not been with locals and that would have been a shame. The cocktails are innovative and fresh. The food was really very good. Our table of 4 had chicken, fish, goat and lamb. All...More

Maurepas Foods is located in the Bywater neighborhood - which is worth a visit/stroll regardless. Even better - though - go to Maurepas where cocktails are an art (ask about the wall of homemade tinctures), and the menu, though limited, is very well executed. For...More

Enjoyed an outstanding dinner experience at Maurepas while visiting with my nieces for the Jazz Fest. So happy to have found this restaurant gem. Had helpful and attentive, friendly staff. Started the evening with a classic sazerac cocktail. Appetizers were wonderful oysters cooked with butter...More

Stopped here for a late night tasting because we were in the neighborhood. We had goat tacos and new potatoe soup with a small cheese plate and shared our selections. It was light and tasty and perfect for a light dinner. The drinks were yummy...More

My wife is a foodie so going here was one of her must sees. However she was very disappointed with the quality of her meal. She had sea food that was only OK. I had shrimp that was very salty. Can't recommend this.

...but not necessarily vegetarian. We had the brussels sprouts, enough for two, with pancetta and a smoked gouda cheese. Keeping it eclectic, we also had grilled oysters with caramalized onions and goat tacos with cilantro and pickled green tomatoes. The menu varies from time to...More

Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward,
the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely
residential. Of course, folks around here love to go
out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere
in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the
festivities, well then so much the better! Home to
some of the most revered live music venues in New
Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining

Creole/Fusion cuisine by Chef Michael Doyle. Trained at Dante's Kitchen in New Orleans, Chef Doyle is making a statement with his innovative cuisine. This restaurant is taking off as the latest in a long line of excellent and relatively unknown New Orleans restaurants. Not far from the jazz on Frenchmen St., this restaurant would be a wonderful way to start an evening out.
