During my stay in the Bywater my friend and I would have breakfast at Satsuma Cafe every morning. It has a small but tasty menu. Loved sipping my coffee and reading the news in their courtyard each morning.

Just had brunch at Satsuma Cafe in the Bywater in NOLA. It was delicious! My husband and I both had the ABC cold pressed juice and it was just perfect. You can taste the beets, but they are not overwhelming. I also had a sandwich with eggs and avocado spread on a bagel and my husband had the breakfast platter.... More

A great place to eat and mingle in the Bywater. We've been here many times and the quality is very good. We often just hang here and enjoy the coffee and freshly baked muffins and scones. The best. Don't miss coming here if you are staying in the Bywater.

Very cool cafe recommended to us by the Air BnB folks we stayed with. The decor is great, the staff are super friendly and the iced coffee is yum! Recommend.

Satsuma had been recommended to me several times, so I was excited to try it. The Bywater neighborhood where it is located is definitely worth visiting, and the cafe is on a street with several interesting thrift/junk stores. You will get a great feel for the local culture by visiting. I did not purchase any food at Satsuma, but I... More

Decided to explore my neighborhood this early AM. Stopped here for a delicious, fresh juice and the green eggs and ham sandwich. So, so good. The ham was especially delicious (not dry, too salty, etc). Will probably end up here again before we leave.

This place in the Bywater area is quite popular. The menu has an a select but eclectic collection of salads and sandwiches. I orderd the turkey, roast peppers sandwich on sourdough bread with a citrusy juice. The juice was very refreshing. The sandwich was insipid. Granted they were out of the ciabata and it may taste better than the sourdough.... More

Stayed nearby when we were visiting from out of town. We came here every single day for breakfast. It was so good! Nice if you can get a table outside.

My recommendations: the tofu scramble, quinoa scramble, and green sandwich. Picture the most incredible breakfast you've had and the double it's incandescence. Enough said. Also splurge for the cayenne pepper shots ;)
