There was garlic soup, garlic chicken, garlic mushrooms.. I love garlic but, it was tough trying to find something on the menu with out it so the food seemed to have run together. My husband ordered the paella but, i was a little disappointed in the flavor. I thought that it would have more of a spice, considering the overload... More

Chef Xavier and his great staff made our 44th anniversary celebration a truly amazing evening. Our entire family, down to our three young grandchildren, enjoyed the delicious tapas and entrees: rack of lamb, shrimp pasta, ceviche, calamari, garlic shrimp to name just a few. Presentation was an amazing variety of scrumptious tastes. And Chef Xavier's planning ahead assured us of... More

Most amazing restaurant in New Orleans! Best tapas I have ever had - and I have just been in Spain! The food is absolutely amazing and cooked to perfection with the most fabulous flavours. We also received the best service we have had in America and the chef is absolutely lovely and puts his heart and soul into his food.... More

We live Uptown, but my wife and I made the short trip to the Riverbend to check this place out after going through tapas withdrawal after our trip to Spain last year. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable. They've got a good wine list, and the menu selection is considerable. My wife's sister joined us and we tried a variety... More

One of the most overlooked restaurants for visitors in New Orleans. Everyone who comes to visit wants what New Orleanians eat, well this is it. If you have ever been to Spain this will take you back. The owner is always there and the kindest man you'll ever meet. The food is just simply put, perfect. As for the tomato... More

We were served personally by the chef, which was cool. You can tell he loves the place and put a lot of work into the decor and food. The gazpacho and calamari were the best dishes we had.

I've been here twice. Both experiences were great! Both times the chef has come out and talked to us, making sure that we are enjoying his food! I really respect a chef that does that. He cooks the food himself and it's his restaurant. He really wants to make sure that you're enjoying yourself and his food. The paella is... More

Stopped in for late evening snack. So glad we did! We had the asparagus aioli, chorizo with manchego cheese, patates with chipotle sauce and shrimp diablo. All were awesome. Finished off with flan and creme brulee for dessert. Lovely, calm, relaxing atmosphere. Great service!

one of the best places for tapas I haved in the States. Cozy and authentic atmosphre in the heart of the New Orleans Garden District. We started out with a cup of white bean fabada soup to warm up and get in the mood. followed with several vegetable dishes including brussel sprouts with havarti, asparagus, and an egg plant casserole.... Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
