We were introduced to this bar on a food tour where we had the most delicious roast beef po'boys. This is about as low-key and perfect as it gets. Good drinks, friendly locals, and good food.

After a long walk down Magazine Street it was nice to find this spot to have a bite to eat. My husband really wanted a Soft Shell Crab Poboy, but unfortunately they had just run out of those. We both had a BLT instead with some potato salad. It was absolutely delicious! Both the sandwich and the salad were so... More

First bar we hit in NOLA. If you want a beer and watch the game that is what you get here. As someone else said on TA - if you want white wine stay clear. Bar service unfriendly.

This is the most atmospheric, genuine, historied po-boy-and-beer place we visited. You order and then go sit. It takes a while. But the sandwiches are authentic and delicious. The alcohol is available across the dark wood interior at the bar. You can look out and watch the passers-by on Magazine St.

It's a good comfortable locals kind of bar and restaurant in the Garden District area. Nice service and indoor and outdoor seating. Prices were pretty standard for the area.

When my wife and I travel we generally rely on locals to steer us to the best places to eat. So when we were visiting with the "dude" at the bike rental shop who looked as if he might know where we could find a good Irish pub, he steered us to Tracey's. In that we were traveling by street... More

Tracey's, hands down the best PO-boy of the trip. We went to Parasol's for years, but decided to try here this trip. Glad we did. Awesome Roast Beef and Shrimp PO-Boys. Two thumbs up.

I usually love dive bars and this is definitely a dive bar. There's a lot to love about this place. The atmosphere is loud, lively and fun and everyone is friendly. The problem with this one is the place was filthy and smelled of garbage. To be fair this was the day after St Patrick's day but you would think... More

Have never been to a place with my name spelled the same. Awesome bar on magazine street. Came on a weekday mid day. Great bartenders who were super friendly. Ordered a roast beef Po Boy which was melt in your mouth delicious and a shrimp and oyster Po Boy which was exceptional. Must try! Boudin balls are also a must... More

When two days prior to St Patrick's Day and although inventory and food choices were limited the friendly nature of the establishment more than made up for it. The sandwich I ordered was out of stock so they gave me free gravy and cheese fries which were delicious and the sandwich I did end up getting the hot sausage po'boy... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
