I had the three local dishes know to NOLA. Gumbo was Wonderful!. and Jumbalaya was full of meats and the etouffee was nice and spicy. Can't go wrong with this platter. My husband had the Alligator Po'Boy and really liked it....It was a bit on the dry side BUT with a packet of Mayo....it was good. We had a coupon... More

The food was really good, plenty and the service was good (most of the times). I only had poor experiences with head-waiters. The first time I went there with a colleague, the head waiter couldn’t look more bored and annoyed with customers. The second time, they were expecting a large crowd and the head waiter was not helpful at all,... More

Friendly staff (Natasha) and fast service amplified the delicious food. I ordered the redfish, my sister had the bread pudding (yes, for ddinner) my son ordered mac and cheese and his friend ordered shrimp and grits. Everything was excellent! Will return!

This is a nice French quarter restaurant. It is not expensive and it is not full of tourists. It is simple (we were served our beers in bottles, not glasses) but the food is quite good. Not a place you'd take a business client but rather where you'd go with friends.

This is not a "fine dining" restaurant but a great place to bring a family and/or watch sports. The food is nothing fancy but well prepared with fresh ingredients and cooked like you ask. Over the past years I have been here with friends and out of town family and have always enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere and good food.

We felt the menu here was interesting but still competitively priced compared to other similar restaurants in the area. Nothing wrong with the food and service was attentive. Liked the flights of craft beer which is something we are not used to at home

We decided to eat at Huck Finn since it is very close to our hotel. We went for breakfast and were pleased with both the service and taste of our meals. Since we enjoyed our breakfast experience, we decided to return for dinner. We should have left well enough alone. Our server was both attentive and pleasant. The beer and... More

Went for brunch. It took 15 minutes to get acknowledged by server, then another 15 to get water and coffee brought to table. They waitress came back 30 minutes after we ordered to ask what we had ordered, as if she forgot and hadn't even sent the order to the kitchen. It was awful. Wouldn't go back.

It's more of a sports pub than a cafe. I took the alligator two ways (fried meatballs and sausage). The fried meatballs were good, but the gator didn't have much taste. Probably a farmed gator. The sausage was nice too. But the letdown was the fries. Obviously frozen, they were soggy and badly fried.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
