We decided to try this coffee shop one morning during our stay in NOLA because we kept walking past it. As others have mentioned in their reviews, the staff was not very warm toward customers. I saw the most emotion when one customer came in with her two very well-behaved dogs for their treats. I enjoyed my latte and received... More

The coffee at Dee's is delicious. We really loved the Cafe Au Lait. We enjoyed coffee from Dee's and croissants from Rouse's every morning. This is a location for all who love delicious coffee.

Coffee is good and so is the food. They also sell tea.. Can be expensive for food/snacks but the coffee is reasonable. It's nice to be able to support an independent coffee spot. Couches and chairs to sit, and a couple board games, not many. Nice to sit and talk and have some quiet time.

Expected more from a neighborhood coffee shop. My drink was not hot enough and lacked foam. Food options are minimal.

We stayed at a hotel across the street, where the coffee was mediocre. So, for the past 3 mornings (ending today, March 4) I grabbed coffee before 7:00. The coffee is good, but this morning, the woman pouring and taking money was super cranky, rude, and nasty. That's the last time I go there.

The only reason that this gets a second star is because the coffee is OK. However, The staff is so incredibly rude that I won't be back again. What's the point of being that unhappy at work?

There WAS a time when dogs and people ate and drank each to themselves---publicly at least. Not so here. Be advised that because they don't serve full plates/meals (or some such mumbling thing) canines are permitted--- even if witnessed jumping/sniffing/licking off of a food table. "IT'S MY PLACE, AND I CAN DO WHAT I WANT!!!", said the lady. Indeed it... More

I'm fussy about espresso. They make an excellent one here, freshly ground good quality beans, perfect crema, very tasty indeed. The blueberry muffin I had with it was good, not fantastic, but good for a light morning put something in my stomach with the double espresso treat.

Staff were extremely rude, forgot half of the order and did not go out of the way to do anything. Our bagels tasted like they had been there a week or so. Nothing redeeming here.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
