My boyfriend and I hung out at Cat's Meow a few times during our week long visit to NO. It doesn't get really entertaining until a little later at night, but once it does, it's more than fun! The karaoke hosts were lively and entertaining and loved engaging the crowd before, during, and in-between songs. I enjoyed that about every... More

Really know most for its karaoke. Very accepting crowd, mostly inebriated, but not obnoxiously so. Great hostess. Lots of fun, even if it is a bit divey.

Strolling down the street and came across this karaoke bar. It's quite loud in there but REALLY enjoyable. Fun songs and people - DJ's really hot the crowd involved and lots of different people sang.

This place was really fun! The emcee was really good. He could get the place going and keep it going for hours. Great voice and dance moves. You can sing and dance on the stage with him or by yourself. Karaoke can be really entertaining and it certainly was at this place. When you add the fabulous emcee, it takes... More

We came across Cats Meow while strolling Bourbon Street and decided to stop in. I didn't see any food being served anywhere. Just drinks. They make a large drink called a Hurricane, which contains four shots of liquor and some kind of soda, for $8.95. It's potent. If you're a regular karaoke participant, you won't like this venue. The DJ... More

We really enjoyed the Cats Meow. It's on bourbon street and had no cover the night we went. It has your average karaoke catalog. I asked to sing a song I didn't see on any list and they had it. The staff was nice and the host did a great job to keep the crowd engaged. The only annoying thing... More

Funny and Cheesy at its best. Watch people stumble in all night long, get on stage and do funny things, mostly not caring about making a fool of themselves. When you get tired of stage, go on balcony and people watch on Bourbon street.

Stopped in here to sing some karaoke. The sound system is wonderful. But they have very few song choices. The KJ sang most of the time we were there. Wasn't impressed. They claim to be the best Karaoke bar in the US. Not sure why they think that.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
