After taking a cab out of the French quarter, waiting in line for 20 minutes and then waiting another 20 to 30 minutes for our food I was a little worried that Willie Mae's would not be worth it. Boy was I wrong! Far and...More

So my friends and I visited New Orleans for a girl's trip and was told we had to try Willie Mae's Scotch House. So we boarded our Uber and was taken to a row/shotgun house, which was actually the restaurant. Please beware: Willie Mae's is...More

We rode the trolley over & then walked the rest of the way. The walk was well worth it. I had the fried chicken with red beans & rice. Thats the best red beans and rice I have ever had. The fried chicken was very...More

Our family lined up for an hour to taste the best fried chicken ever, and was not disappointed. The Fried chicken was crispy, juicy and tender. And it was so unbelievably good. Every bite was like a piece of heaven! It went so perfectly well...More

I honestly couldn't tell you why. It's unlike like any fried chicken I've ever had. On it's own, the batter is a little salty, but with the chicken it's perfect! It's not super thick or heavy crust, but not too thin either. I ordered the...More

Willie Mae's Scotch House is an outer-world dining experience - especially for those not from The Big Easy. Butterbeans, fried chicken (even better than mom's), collard greens, Sweet tea ... the list of delights is endless. But seriously, the butterbeans were seasoned so perfectly, I...More

I love fried chicken. This was the best I've had to date. My companion and I shared a three piece lunch with an extra side of mac and cheese ($5) to avoid the $4 split plate charge. The mac and cheese was just okay, but...More

This is that 'slap ya momma' chicken, 'forreal'. This place is a local favorite that the uber and bus drivers tell you about. It ain't much to look at, as it's old and the decor makes the best of the situation... but you don't go...More

Of course this place is know for its fried chicken. It's been featured on all the shows and rightly so. If it can serve amazing food in a dump like that go for it. This is where you go to enjoy the food and not...More

That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi
that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere
else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the
streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered
to be the very best of New Orleans culture and
tradition is, put simply, just how people go about
their daily lives in this historic part of town. As
one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods

Yes you can and you should, if you cannot dine it! It is so worth the stop, though. The food is worth taking the time and eating there, I promise!
