We went for a late lunch and enjoyed sitting outside along the river. We tried the Aligator bites, the Shrimp Creole and Catfish Decatur. They were all so good, but the Catfish Decatur was the best!

After having so much great food in New Orleans, we spent our last nite at the Crazy Lobster. Big mistake. We were there on a rather slow Monday. We sat for a long time just waiting on a server. She finally came and asked not only what we wanted to drink, but what we wanted to eat. The drinks came... More

We went for lunch. Waitstaff was excellent, and the food was good. Careful about party size, there is a fee for more then 5 and no splitting checks at the table. Shrimp Tacos were excellent, light and perfectly fried shrimp. Nice location and wonderful outdoor seating.

We did not have the lobster, but we had the fried Catfish and Shrimp. Both were very tasty. They also have a great selection Alochol drinks.

We had made many plans for dinner but had one night to fill. We had walked past Crazy Lobster on the way to the Creole Queen riverboat. The menu looked interesting and the location along the riverfront. I had seen them listed on Groupon and was able to purchase a Groupon for dinner. We were seated outside with views of... More

I ordered the shrimp and crab boil and my husband ordered the shrimp boil. AWESOME!! The shrimp was so fresh and flavorful and so many!! Sausage was great as well although... More

Visited Poppy's on a Saturday afternoon for a lunch. We had the shrimp and grits, a shrimp po-boy, and fish and grits. All of the dishes we had were well done classic New Orleans...spicy but not too much. Good choice after walking/shopping along Riverwalk.

I can't say enough nice things about our waitress. She was friendly, attentive, and professional. The food was good - I can't say anything bad about the pasta dish I had. It was tasty. However, overall, I thought the dishes were overpriced - which is why I selected the pasta dish. I would have preferred one of their other entrees,... More

We found this restaurant by accident while on a scavenger hunt and am so glad we did. The food was geat. I ordered the lobster salad and most restaurants put small cut up pieces of lobster in it...not this restaurant, you get a complete half lobster on top of your greens! Loved it!

We took a wonderful walk along the Riverwalk and stoped here for dinner. The service was great, food delicious and the view was fantastic. Prices are a bit high but the entire experience was worth the price. We will return!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
