My husband and I stopped here for lunch Friday before visiting the French Quarter and were not disappointed. Our server was great although I did not get his name. I ordered the shrimp and crab boil and my husband ordered the shrimp boil. AWESOME!! The shrimp was so fresh and flavorful and so many!! Sausage was great as well although... More

Visited Poppy's on a Saturday afternoon for a lunch. We had the shrimp and grits, a shrimp po-boy, and fish and grits. All of the dishes we had were well done classic New Orleans...spicy but not too much. Good choice after walking/shopping along Riverwalk.

I can't say enough nice things about our waitress. She was friendly, attentive, and professional. The food was good - I can't say anything bad about the pasta dish I had. It was tasty. However, overall, I thought the dishes were overpriced - which is why I selected the pasta dish. I would have preferred one of their other entrees,... More

We found this restaurant by accident while on a scavenger hunt and am so glad we did. The food was geat. I ordered the lobster salad and most restaurants put small cut up pieces of lobster in it...not this restaurant, you get a complete half lobster on top of your greens! Loved it!

We took a wonderful walk along the Riverwalk and stoped here for dinner. The service was great, food delicious and the view was fantastic. Prices are a bit high but the entire experience was worth the price. We will return!

Exploring Riverside walk and needing a lunch fix. My wife ordered a Crab cake Po'Boy and I had a Mardi Gras salad. Salad was good - Po'Boy served with fries was huge - crab cakes tasty. Service friendly but forgetful. Meal served at table without knives and forks - had to approach wait staff who were engaged in conversation to... More

We had a GREAT waiter. He was so helpful. Remember everything is spicy ad plan accordingly. We got the seafood bucket, an app or oysters and three drinks and it ran me $185 with tip for two of us so be warned

Went to this place because of a Groupon. We had raw oysters and charbroiled oysters. These were definitely better than Acme! Nice size and great flavor. Our shrimp poboy's were excellent. I know it's not near Bourbon street but it's not a bad walk. Exercise is good! Our server was excellent and very friendly. We came at night but I... More

I needed a lunch fix and stopped on my way to the Riverwalk Outlets, sat at the bar. Bartender was very nice, quick order, served food quickly. Had a good bloody Mary's, followed by the house salad which was way above average for a house salad. Main course was the jambalaya, it was super tasty. Overall good lunch stop.

Service was not good. Prices are very high. We had a group and a gratuity was added to all checks even though the service was not good. Will not come back on future visits.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
