I was deciding between three and four stars and settled on 3. Not sure if I ordered the wrong meal got chicken but there was so much cracked coriander on the top and didn't enjoy at all. My colleague enjoyed his so more likely I picked the wrong menu...said that place is phenomenal and service is spectacular..I will go again... More

Coquette came highly recommended by NO locals. We were super pleased to get a same day reservation for a large party. We all chose the Chef's tasting menu with the wine parings and it was one of the best meals any of us had ever had. The service was friendly and explained each wine and each course with just enough... More

Coquette has become my favorite dining experience when visiting NOLA. The cuisine carefully reflects the season, and features local products in new and inventive ways. Yes, there's a certain amount of respect for traditional NOLA cuisine, but Coquette goes a step further. While the descriptions of some dishes might come across as overwrought or complex, I have found they're actually... More

Came highly recommended, but found to be less than adequate for New Orleans dining. Menu was difficult to understand. Service was slow and just disappointing overall. Food was good but not worth a return trip. Would no go back.

I'm not ashamed to admit it. My favorite New Orleans neighborhood is the Garden District. It is hip; constantly evolving and still miraculously, it retains its Old South charm. Tucked into this corner of a state that hosts the head of the Klu Klux Klan and a city that heralds debauchery year round in the French Quarter is Coquette, an... More

"Average" isn't the right rating but I can't agree it was either very good or excellent for the value or hype. It was not "average" but disappointing. Room was comfortable and inviting (although the chairs was not comfortable). The food was tasty and our service was good - attentive but not intrusive, prompt but not too fast or slow. The... More

Fresh / warm italian bread. Very tasty poached eggs, cleaned out my plate. Ended up at the bar because we didn't have reservation, but that was still ok with 4 collegues. Friendly helpful staf. Magazine St around Halloween is a tourist attraction of its own.

They were sold out on a Thursday night but we were seated at the bar and enjoyed a fantastic meal in a fun and unpretentious setting. Super-creative menu - we each enjoyed a small plate and a large plate, which was just right. Prices really reasonable for the high quality. I'm glad we wandered in!

The aroma from the street sold us on trying this restaurant. The service was poor. The meal left us both flat and wanting. Enjoy the aroma when walking by and save your money.

Having not read any of the reviews here, I will just say: Go Don't overthink it It's good It's a beautiful spot in the garden district, elégant decor. Ok, the rustic chairs could be a tad more comfy. The service by Elizabeth was super fun, convivial and efficient. We started with the country pâté with satsuma mustard, perfection. We had... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
