We were in Madison for the state wrestling tournament. A college student who lives in Madison recommended this restaurant. I had an old fasion that was amazing. For A Friday night the place seemed to be a ghost town. The food was good but I wouldn't say it was excellent. It is a nice cozy dimly light place. Overall our... More

Being next to the capital this place is exactly what you would expect. Fancy place with fairly high cost menu. Don't get me wrong, this place does not disappoint! Food was great. Drinks are a little spendy, at least for a person that consumes as I do. Also used to the middle of So. Dak. where beers are $3 at... More

One of my favorite places in Madison HAD been this cozy, Irish pub downtown on the square...no longer. It guess it might still qualify as an Irish pub...if you're on Mars! The inside resembles a silver spaceship; empty, cold and industrial feeling. I'm very proud of my Irish heritage and always felt like it was a treat to go to... More

We had a group of 10, and the staff was most accommodating. We had a reservation, and were seated immediately on the 2nd floor, with a great view of the capitol. I ordered the fish fry special which had 4 kinds of fish, including walleye, as well as fries and a red cabbage slaw. I found the fish in general... More

The brocach was one of my favorite downtown places. They renovated the soul out of it. They Decimated the menu. How do you have an Irish pub without Shepherd's Pie?! I won't be back. So sad.

I went for the Restaurant Week menu. This was my second time there and the first after the redo of the interior and the removal of the eye-catching and classy red facade. It's totally lost the Irish charm and character that it had formerly. Food was average. It's trying to be "cool" urban-warehouse minimalist now. They need to change the... More

NICELY DONE Wait staff was prompt, friendly and attentive. Food was EXCELLENT and plated beautifully. Extensive beverage selection offering specialty drafts, irish whiskeys and array of wines and cocktails. Thank you... More

I will start out by saying our waiter was great. My husband and I have gone to the Brocach many times through the years. What did they do to the welcoming facade, warm, dark and inviting interior? Before it was like you where in Ireland, eating and drinking in an Irish pub. We would come and sit at the bar... More

This place has really gone downhill. This used to be one of my favorite places in grad school. Unfortunately, both the food and the service have dropped off significantly. First, our group of 8 people were seated at a table that did not seat more than 6 comfortably. We had to ask to move. I asked for a beer, and... More

We have visited Brocach many times over the years, and were looking forward to our visit since recent renovations. We were warmly greeted by the staff and the service was excellent. The drinks were delicious, but pricey. The food was just average. The cool Irish atmosphere is gone, and the place now feels generic and sterile. All in all, it... More
