Went with my daughter and son in law for dinner. This had been her favorite years ago. We didn't have reservations and were seated promptly. The food and service were both good. I had udon that was very good.

I was excited to get a few rolls of sushi for not much money... but I could for sure tell. Not very flavorful and a very skinny roll, size of a quarter. It definitely wasn't "bad" but I got cheap food for a cheap price. So if you are a poor college student and really want sushi, this might suffice.... More

Had the sashimi lunch. The fish didn't actually have an off flavor, but it was rather old, and there wasn't much of it. They probably shouldn't even offer sashimi or sushi if they can't do better. You can do much better in Madison. My husband had the bento box with snapper. The piece of fried fish was about 2" in... More

The teriyaki flat iron steak was excellent! A very hidden away place located down town Madison is perfect for a authentic taste of Japanese food. Service was very good and there was a large offer of sushi choices. They even serve wine and beer. I really wasn't expecting it to be as good, but the serving portion were great and... More

I've been going to Wasabi for over 30 years. Ken the owner, is still around and is always in a happy mood. I love sitting at the bar and watching the prep. Can't figure out reviews that say "slow service", just the opposite. Love the combo plates with sashimi, great miso soup, and shrimp tempura.

I came in a party of three, and we all had sushi as a lunch special. I must say, not bad! The rolls are very small but the price made it worthwhile for me. I had two "reverse rolls," which are just rice on the outside and seaweed on the inside. One had crab and one had shrimp; both had... More

The rolls were reasonably priced. There wasn't a huge selection, but adequate. Fresh and good quality. Other Japanese items available as well as Sushi. Good service.

I had a 20$ dish with misu soup and various sushi and sashimi slices. Sashimi was very fresh and tasty. Sushi rolls were a bit thin, but overall was enough food. The service was a bit slow...

My wife was born in the "Asakusa (浅草?) district in Taitō, Tokyo, Japan, famous for the Sensō-ji, a Buddhist temple dedicated to the bodhisattva Kannon." For such an "Old Tokyo" woman, only the best would do on her birthday, so I decided to take her to Wasabi - it passed the test with flying colors! Every dish that we ordered... More

After a long day on airplanes, I needed a sashimi fix and wandered around Madison until I found this restaurant. Not a big fan of vinegar rice, so I order a selection of sashimi. I got a good selection, very fresh this night, and excellent service at the sushi bar. Completely compensated for the hassles of traveling.

Thank Richard J
