On a cold (minus 1 degree) Sunday morning in Madison, I could not have been happier with our first visit here. It's kind of hard to give a diner a five star rating but I don't see how this meal could have been improved upon. We could seat ourselves away form the door. Server showed up right away, got our... Came here mid-day, following tripadvisor postings. Such a lovely, cute, friendly diner with wonderful food. We came around noon and had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, but was absolutely worth it. A varied menu of local fresh suppliers. We had the Sweet Potato Hash and Chilaquiles. Fabulous, along with the last cinnamon sugar donut. So many wonderful... More
Food is excellent, service as well. Best for breakfast, but don't be shy for other meals. Known for modern takes on classics. My favorite breakfast is their sweet potato hash. My husband likes their salmon hash. For other meals, try their jambalaya or classics like meat loaf. Have never had a bad meal there. My one complaint - it's a... More
We had a party of 6 and had to wait 45 minutes so we ordered coffee in togo cups and sat outside. Wonderful, friendly staff, with an enormous menu. Hard to make just one selection. Everything was very good and generous portions. Had to take our desserts togo. Our bottomless cups of coffee were never empty. We will definitely return.
I've been to Monty's before when visiting Madison, but this time I thought I'd be adventurous and try something different for brunch. I had the potato zucchini pancakes with apple-cranberry sauce. WOW! I want the recipe! This restaurant is a homey old time diner with a modern vegan vibe. I was so impressed with the service, food and comfy ambiance... More
Eat at what looks like an old gas station from 50's or 60's. Fresh veggies, I think even organic. Real mash potatoes! Desserts galore that are homemade. Delicious place. You'll want to go back like we do. I crave that meatloaf; my husband the desserts. I hope they figure out better parking for the big crowd. Parking can be a... More
After only 20 minute wait on a busy Saturday evening, our party of four were seated in a booth and enjoyed an elevated diner experience. Vegan and vegetarian options were numerous, service was great, food sooooo tasty!
I usually get the all American breakfast--eggs, bacon, fruit, and biscuit--and it never disappoints. The weekends can get pretty busy, so be prepared to wait.
Sometimes you just have to have some really great food, this is the place to go for everything from eggs Benedict to chicken chili or vegetarian meals. They have the most delicious baked goods too from cinnamon buns to pie. My husband's favorite is their malts even for breakfast ! Don't knock it if you haven't tried it ! Go... More
