If we've had a particularly hectic or stressful day we try to visit The Taste of India for dinner. Aloo Naan, an unleavened white bread filled with mashed potatoes is soothing. It comes out piping hot from being baked in a tandoor oven. Their veggie soup with lentils and vegetables and spices is also good. Our favorite main dish, the... More

This is the place where I have learned the most about Indian food. Other restaurants just put stuff infront of you like the joint on West Washington Ave. The more information the menu can help people understand the food, the more people that will come back. This our #1 Indian restaurant in Madison right now. I hope it stays that... More

Great food and service. I had the mixed tandoori grill... was so tasty! And of course the naan was good too!

We have been here twice for dinner (wanted to give the restaurant a second chance). I dare say that I have eaten in quite a few Indian restaurants both in Europe and the US, this restaurant is certainly not a highlight. The service etc. is good. The most important aspect - the food - is just average (if at all).... More

My family greatly enjoyed their meal, but personally I didn't enjoy mine as much as I had expected. The mango lasse was the highlight for me. Staff was friendly but not overly attentive.

This is the best Indian lunch buffet in town. The entrees are fresh and impeccably spiced. Most entrees are vegetarian or chicken based. The chicken chili is especially good. Its more a stir fry than a chili. The chicken tiki masala is great. They also have wonderful chutneys, soup, salads and mango ice cream. You are guaranteed to get a... More

We got the vegetarian platter for two, which consisted of an appetizer, rice, 3 sauces, naan bread, and a pudding with SAFFRON for dessert. We saved it and used it for the next day's lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful.

We eat here a lot and the quality is always consistently good. The staff are lovely and seem to remember what we like to order even if we haven't been in months. We often order the excellent chicken tikka masala and the vegetable korma but have rarely been disappointed when we have branched out. Try the gorgeous pillowy garlic or... More

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Madison. Not far from downtown in the quaint Dundgeon-Monroe neighborhood, this gem of Indian food is not to be missed. The prices are fair and the service huge portions. Call ahead and you can pick up your order in 20 minutes, even on a busy Friday night.
