Bali has come a long way with its Italian food, I remember first trying bolognese 30 years ago compared to what it is now - massive improvement. This place was a regular for us during our 8 day s in Bali and was terrific, food was great and relatively cheap. It is located directly in front of the Padma - so right outside the door. Pastas were really good but our favourites were the Parmesan balls and the bruschetta (warm tomatoes on the menu). In comparison I paid a lot more a few days later in Singapore for similar Italian food at a celebrity chef restaurant - would take this place any day.

Came here for lunch and it was not as busy as other restaurants. Felt like some western cuisine and pizza was preferred. We ended up ordering the bruchetta to share which was one of the best we've all had. My partner ordered the gorgonzola pizza which was a little dry, so this may have been a bad choice. My mate and i ordered 2 x different risottos, which were of a good standard. Background music was soothing, and service was good. It is the same price as other places around here with lower standards. Overall, was pretty good!

We had dinner at Mamma Maurici and chose the Pasta Mista Platter where you could select 3 pastas and 3 sauces. We selected the spaghetti fettuccini , pappardelle marinara and the gnocchi bolognaise. The portions were generous and the pastas were flavourful. I would have liked to have been able to rate Mamma Maurici at 5 stars as the pastas deserved this rating but some of pastas were lukewarm by the time they were put on our table. The Pasta Mista Platter is great value for the price.

Being next door to our hotel, we thought it was great to see a busy Italian restaurant so close to us, tables always full of people. Unfortunately the experience was not a happy one when we went there. We ordered our food and drinks…..20 minutes later still no drinks and we had to chase staff. After 40 minutes, no starters….to be told after chasing it could be another 20 minutes! Then one of the starters arrived (garlic bread) but not the others, defeating the object as we wanted to eat the bread with our individual dishes. By this time my husband was losing his appetite and when the other starters arrived he tried it, but didn’t eat it. When the mains arrived, we knew we’d made a mistake choosing this restaurant.. I had to ask for cutlery as they hadn’t refreshed the table after the starters. My husbands chicken parmigiana was so dry as to be inedible, and when he tried to cut it his knife snapped! My lasagne did not resemble any lasagne I’ve eaten before and was just not nice. After asking to see the manager, a team member from the Fat Bowl (sister restaurant next door) appeared. I refused to pay for the main courses and we left, disillusioned and hungry. The management need to hire more staff, and train them, as they cannot cope.

No no no - advertising says this is a home made food Italian restaurant. It is not. I had a calabrese pizza and asked for if to be well done (as I have had undercooked pizza in Bali before). What arrived was an insult to Italian pizza. Store bought pizza bases, low quality toppings and the base was raw. As I had walked 20 minutes in the pouring rain to get here - I ate half of it. I hope I won’t regret it. Sad I wasted my last night in Bali on bad food. Lower your expectations if you decide to eat here. Complaining to the staff would have been a waste of time due to the lack of English proficiency.

Great little Italian restaurant on jl Padma opposite The Padma. Service was attentive, and the pasta dishes were so good. We shared between 2, the pasta platter , chose 3 sauces, with 3 pastas. The marinara was delicious as was the funghi sauce and the calabrese. I’m fussy with pasta as I have an Italian background and taught to cook by my mum, rarely eat pasta anywhere but home. I was in heaven! Great sangria cocktail too.

Stay away this restaurant is shocking. Went for dinner there with my wife, daughter, son in law and two grand kids on our first night in Bali. We ordered spaghetti bolognese, and pizza with prosciutto. The sauce was brown and not red the mince meat had a bad off smell and when I tasted it the mince meat was off. The prosciutto on the pizza was off as well the pizza base tasted terrible. We complained to the staff about the food and they didn't seem too concerned. I can go on about the rest of the food but I won't all I can say is that I don't know how this restaurant gets away with serving food like that. We left very quickly

To be honest, maybe I was unlucky, but my a la matriciana pasta did not taste at all to my liking. The size was good, really loaded with bacon, good, but the sauce was unfortunately much too sweet, and for that I found it quite expensive. Staff was friendly and I was seated at the outside smoking area which was good. Just a pity about my pasta.

One of the best meals we had in Bali - top quality and taste, excellent value. Really good cocktails and great service. We shared the meatballs and grilled tiger prawns and both were so authentic. Also had the pork ribs which were melt in your mouth. Clean and comfortable - highly recommended.

We are here tonight and could not fault it. The service was good. Drinks arrived promptly, entree too. Yes, I agree with another persons review - the lasagne didn’t resemble lasagne. It was more a mince mash on a few pieces of pasta. My husband enjoyed the taste, used the garlic bread to eat it.

This rating is only 3 stars due to the lack of staff. The food was lovely, flavoursome and enjoyed by all. There were a few things on the menu that were not available which was disappointing but the staff shortage was what took the shine of our experience. Waiting for staff to come and get drink & food orders was drawn out as was trying to get a second drinks order. Food - 5 star Service - poor

The freshest and tastiest Italian in Legian. Second time here, we had the Parmesan dough balls with dipping sauce of olive oil and balsamic vinegar were so soft and moist. I then had the gnocchi aglio e olio with gnocchi. This was just beautiful. Clearly hand made and gnocchi had just been boiled as they were so soft. Husband had the armatriciana and loved it. You would not get better in Italy.

Had the pizzas, needed seasoning, base thin and ok. Service very ordinary, we sat outside and got a little forgotten. Not very busy, larger groups inside which may have been a deterrent. Wouldn’t rush back

We went two nights in a row, because we loved it. I had gnocchi carbonara both nights as they were absolutely delicious and the best gnocchi I’ve had in a restaurant. The restaurant is very cute and looks like a little Italy. The pastas were all nice according to my family.

Great Italian food option for anyone staying around the Padma. The prawns main was unreal and the most delicious I have eaten. Service was great as well. One let down was unavailability of wines on the menu.. had to settle for local Bali wine
