Best Restaurant and menu in Bali by a country mile - a must is the nasi goreng for lunch or have the big breakfast in the morning. Just had there Lamb Shank amd it was sublime. Staff very accomodating

Asian Spice Restaurant review

My wife and I went to Asian Spice for dinner. When I sat down, my arms stuck to the wooden arms on the chair. The wood was black with long term accumulation of sweat, grease and dirt. I asked the waitress if she could clean...them. She used cleaning spray and a cloth but the dirt was too ingrained to wipe off. I asked her if they had a pizza oven and was told they did. So I ordered a seafood pizza. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich. My pizza arrived, but the base was a pre made bread (like you buy from woolies) which was dried out. It was completely covered in congealed cheese. I took a bite and found it crunchy and unappealing. I peeled the cheese back (all in one rubbery piece) and was stunned when I saw prawn heads underneath it. Unable to eat it, I called the waitress and said the prawn heads should be in the rubbish bin, not in the pizza and they could make someone ill. After discussion with another restaurant person, the waitress said they would remove the service charge. I pointed out, that I hadn't eaten the pizza and she had further discussions A lady I assume was the manager came over and apologised said they wouldn't charge for the pizza. We paid for my wife's chicken plus service charge and left. Unfortunately, I didn't think about taking a photo.More
