About
Boutique resort, eight luxury seaside rooms and villas, restaurant, sailing school. Bukit segara means hill at the sea, the resort is at the seaside, all rooms are next to the sea with private excess to the sea with the famous Bunutan Reef. Thanks to the own springwater well there is drinkable water everywhere, also in the pool. Our restaurant is open from 8 am to 9 pm. Last order 7:30pm.

by chance we came to this place and have been so positiv surprised. it already started with a very friendly welcome by Wayan, that we felt great by the first second at our arrival.
We choose many different dishes (local &I international) for lunch and also for dinner. Each of them was delicious and prepared with love on a high international level. My favorite was the the shrimps cocktail for entry, The shrimps have been just perfect prepared on tasty fruits and a sight for the eyes.
We enjoyed very much the elegant, descent atmosphere and the great service offered by Wayan and her crew.
A great place to go, to stay and having real good food at Amed.
We definitely coming back. Thank you Wayan for being a great host and making us a wonderful time.

That was really a nice review. And of course your host Wayan was very happy to read it. About her, Wayan Sery, I like to tell you some. In most villas, resorts and restaurants you will find a man, often a foreigner, who is the manager. But we have Sery, 25 years old, a Balinese woman born and raised in the Amed area. She is supervising 20 staff among which men who are much older than she is. She started as a trainee, became a cook, than head kitchen, than also head of restaurant, now she is the general manager.
In the mean time she is a mother of 3 young boys and for our guests she is a great host. She made the restaurant the nr 1 in Amed, also thanks to reviews like yours. Thank you for that.

Oh wow! We were walking past looking for somewhere for lunch. Little did we know that we were going to make the best memories we have had in Bali...
We had an amazing lunch, a nice selection of western, Asian and Indonesian dishes. We had a chicken sandwich and fresh fish caught that day đź‘Ś. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the view was so stunning! We had hit the jackpot!
The owner came and introduced himself and invited us to join them for a cereomy with a balanise priest! (who was so friendly, it was a joy to hear about his life) We joined in with the staff and they talked us through what was happening and welcomed us with open arms. We really didn't want to leave... if we hadn't already paid for accomodation elsewhere we would have stayed! it felt like we were leaving newfound friends. If you have the opportunity to stay here, do it! It will make your stay in Bali the best holiday you have ever had!
Thankyou again to all the staff and owners. It was an absolute privilege to meet you all.food was out of this world! We will remember our day with you for a lifetime.

Thank you very much for this enthusiastic review.
You were the only guests at that moment. I use the opportunity to inform others that we changed the dinnertime for our restaurant. That means that last order is at 17 am (was 20.30). We do so because at the moment there are just a few guests in Amed and most of them stay in their own house, villa or hotel.
'Na regen komt zonneschijn' , we say in Dutch.( After rain the sun will shine). After tsunami's, earthquakes, bombes, Bali will survive also this crisis.
We hope to see you again.

I am lucky enough to have dined at Restaurant Bukit Segara on many occasions for breakfast, lunch and dinner as we are frequent guests of this magnificent boutique villa in Amed. The food, service and location are second to none and I would highly recommend this restaurant without hesitation. The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. The fresh grilled Mahi Mahi and Beef Rendang were among our favourites as well as the locally prepared Duck. The restaurant staff, Sery, Bary, Jesika, Silvia & Kadek provide an impeccable service. If you are in Amed do yourself a favour and visit Restaurant Bukit Segara at the beginning of your stay so your have a chance to return again and again. My family and I cannot wait to visit again!

This was probably the best meal we had in two weeks on Bali. The restaurant is located along the shoreline so we were able to enjoy a great meal while taking in a beautiful view of the ocean. I had the Opor Ayam and my girlfriend had the chicken satay. Both were excellent and the portions were large. You will not walk away from a meal here and still be hungry. The service was great. All of the staff we interacted with were super nice. We went for dinner and found we were the only customers in the restaurant. The owner stopped by our table and chatted with us. Super nice guy. He explained it was a combination of the natural low season in Bali coupled with the good old COVID-19 scare so tourist numbers were down a lot in the Amed area. This is a shame and I hope that great little restaurants like Bukit Segara are able to weather the downturn in tourism.

Dear Brad,
You certainly make my staff and me very happy with this, I guess for the time being final review. All hotels and restaurants in Amed are closed, so are we. But while others fired the staff, mostly without any pay, we keep all our 18 staff on the payroll with there normal salary. At the moment we are building an extra guesthouse with pool and with experienced management they are all able to help. Our cooks are now laying brigs, the waitresses are painting and so on. I hope that others will follow our example in stead of sending people home without anything. Certainly rich western owners who made a lot of money before should be ashamed doing so.

We visited the Bukit Segara restaurant often before the pandemic, and now when we were finally back in Amed for a holiday, we decided to have dinner there with friends again.
I’m happy to say it’s just as wonderful place as before, the decor is stylish, garden in beautiful condition, food is great and service impeccable.
We arrived a little late and the time for last order had already passed, but the staff was happy to keep the kitchen open for us.
I particularly love the creamy fish soup, it’s just the right amount of savory and creamy. The food is always made with fresh, high quality ingredients without compromises. Food is always presented beautifully, whether you order western or Balinese dishes (both are great), and they really pay attention to the detail. Wine selection is also good, and the staff is happy to make a recommendation based on your food choices. They also have wines available by glass.
For Amed the prices are on the higher end (dishes start from around 100 with the tax), but compare with south of Bali and it’s very affordable. Excellent quality for the price.
Bukit Segara earns a five star review from me, because all the elements of great experience are in check, and the quality has consistently been high. Thanks for the team for making a dinner always a special event!

Thank you dear guest for your nice and very complete review. Its certainly informative for others and I - being in the Netherlands now- feel always proud when I read that my staff is doing a great job!
One remark about staff and prices. There are minimum wages for staff in Bali which we follow- plus extra's.
Local warungs work with family who get just some pocket money and food. Also they dont have to pay tax, like we do. Thats why our prices are indeed a bit higher, the difference for a meal is around 3 or 4 euro. So thats what you pay extra for good labour conditions, excellent quality and service to the detail!

Called in for lunch based on reviews here and what a delight.
We were the only ones in when we arrived but tbe staff put music on immediately so we could settle in and take in tbe magnificent view.
Went for the club sandwich and the chicken sandwich which were next level compared to others in the area , so tasty .
Would love to return for dinner.

we came to this restaurant in the hope of having a 'nice meal' together during our travels - now if a luxury setting, a nice sea view is your priority then great!
However the food severely let this restaurant down:
It is very overpriced for what we received, and having spent some time in Amed, you can get far nicer food at local warungs (even the one next door!!).
that being said, the staff were wonderful and very catering to our needs.
After having some amazing Indonesian food on our travels - this place just felt too commercial and focused on aesthetics rather than quality. It would be great if they could match their food standards to their setting standards!

Very friendly staff, the food was amazing. By far the best we had in Amed and maybe whole Bali. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice and they pay attention to every single detail. We had the rice table and this was an amazing choice to taste different dishes.

We have eaten here several times and the food is always outstanding, the staff are very well trained and genuinely friendly. The chicken satay is one of the better offerings with a tasty sauce and fresh vegetables. The chicken soup was also outstanding. The dining area and the views out to sea are mesmerising. Highly recommended.

Decided to try this place dinner after passing it by earlier. Very glad we did. The food and service were excellent. Our server was very friendly and attentive but without being intrusive. They menu was varied and included both local and international dishes. We had chicken satay to start. Delicious and moist with a spicy peanut sauce. Main course was large prawns served with rice and curried vegetables again delicious. A nice touch were the finger bowls to accompany the main course. Situated right on the beachfront it deserves to be busier given the food and service.

Just WOW.
This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in my life. The service is incredible. All of the staff remembered our names, and made us feel like VIPs. We had the slow roasted duck, which we ordered the day before and it was perfect. The duck came with 3 sides and we were offered more of any side, free of charge, if we would like. We were also able to book a romantic dinner seating, which was at no added charge.
Also the most stunning views, right on the water!

My husband and me stayed at the hotel for 2 times and had almost every dinner at this restaurant. The dinning area is really special with ocean view and the atmosphere is just amazing. We loved the food very much and you can choose out of a variety of international and local dishes. We recommend the duck (on the picture) with a virgin mojito đź’ś the staff and service is just amazing and was very attentive. A big thank you for having these wonderful dinner at your place!

As part of our stay at the Villa Bukit Segara, we had many breakfasts, lunches and dinners at the Restaurant Bukit Segara.
Location is perfect: very calm with a beautiful seaside (with breathtaking corals). The overall facilities are very well designed, maintained and clean.
Food is very nice. We ate mostly Balinese and Indonesian dishes. Many vegetables, fruits and eggs (as well as even duck) come from the restaurant's own garden (the restaurant is part of a small family hotel with a large piece of land). Everything was very fresh.
Staff is extraordinarily nice and dedicated. Most have been working for the place for some time. They seem to appreciate it and the relationship with the customers very much. The owners created this place originally for them and then opened it up to guests. This, we believe, makes a big difference.
You can see and feel everything is done with the heart. We felt relaxed and in harmony.

The service is is great and the staff shake your hands and introduce themselves , however everytime they come to the table they address you by your name. This is good service but becomes alittle annoying,
The food is good, I ordered the steamed fish, small portion perfectly cooked, some sortied veges with a cream coconut flavour. Great Penecolada's but a small pour of the spirits.

Dear Guest,
Just to inform others about the seize of the portion: "You can order a second main course without extra pay". This is clearly mentioned on the menu so we avoid waste but also serve the guests with a big appetite. I think an intelligent way of doing, so a portion can never be to small.
Another unique option that we offer: if you dont know what kind of fish to order( Baracuda, Mahi Mahi etc) you can order 2 types for the same price. This is also a way to find out what is your preferred kind of fish in Bali. Do you know any restaurant offering the above mentioned options? Kind regards, Derk

We ate at Bukit Segara 3 consecutive diner and had wonderful time. The meals included mouth watering slow roasted dolongs. The service was excellent always polite and preventive. The staff was also wonderful to interact with our 2 young kids. We are coming to Bukit segara everytime we go to Bali and will continue to come again.

Slow roasted dolong. Thanks for your nice review, it also gives me the opportunity to explain what a dolong is, not many Western people will know it. A dolong is like a duck but much bigger. Slowly roasted its'"mouth watering" as you mention. The roasting takes some time so it has to be ordered in advance. Its for the whole family, also kids like it. It comes with french frites, rice, vegetables.
