My family and I (3 kids aged 13, 10 and 8) all enjoyed our dinner here. The food was tasty, the portions generous. I struggled to perform my normal dad task of finishing off the kids meals. It's not a cheap place though, not expensive but certainly not cheap. I wouldn't have wanted to pay much more for the meal,... More

Read the review in the Lonely Planet but should have steered clear when we realised we were just about the only ones showing up for dinner. You can get much the same meal cheaper at most warungs in the area. Chicken curry had an overpowering fish flavour presumably from the fish sauce base. Salada Ayam was the highlight. Pizza that... We originally only went in for a beer but ended up staying and eating. Large well laid out place quite quirky, obviously aimed at western tourists. Nice seating areas on bean bags with tables or traditional tables and chairs. Excellent staff friendly and attentve. We had mee goring and chicken satay both excellent. Tasty and in sufficient portion size. Would... More

The atmosphere and service are great. However one of the main reasons for visiting a cafe is to eat. I had one prawn in my rice paper roll yesterday and since then I have been in serious pain in my tummy and back and have had the worst diarrhea of my life. I wish I could say this was an... More

The location and atmosphere is great so it is very appealing to enter this place. The food was quite ok, considering the price I expected better. Frankly, most smaller warungs around have better local food for lower prices.

Cafe Garam is purely tourists' place and the food there is just ordinary, somewhat bland... The menue is quite extensive and eclectical, tom yun kung beside beef stroganoff, but both are just wan shadows of the originals. Prices are average for Amed, helpings are big and the place is rather cosy, though. Waitors are helpful and friendly, free wi-fi.

We stopped in for desert while staying in Tulamben, it was 20 minutes by scooter and nice to get away from the area for a little. The desert was excellent, the crepes with lemon sauce and ice cream was awesome. The price is a little high, but the service was fast and the atmosphere was beautiful. Take the walk out... More

We stayed in Hotel Uyah for a couple of nights and had our breakfast and lunch here every day. We came here for dinner only once because we wanted to try out the other places around there as well. The food was always good. Especially the included breakfast was a lot better than what we used to get in other... More
