Half way up the Gunflint Trail you will find Trail Center. Love the casual northwoods atmosphere. Food is good and service excellent. Large portions. Might see a moose outside down by the lake, or on the road. Lots of local customers and tourists love their thick, thick malts served during the summer season.

This restaurant seems like it's in the middle of nowhere, on the Gunflint Trail, but it serves up delicious burgers & other entrees from an extensive menu. Full bar. Nice shop out front with plenty of maple syrup on display.

Doesn't disappoint! Great ambiance and service. Portions are large and food is tasty! Crab legs aren't on the menu but worth requesting. Salad with homemade blue cheese dressing sets things up nicely; side of garlic pasta was spot on with the fresh garlic flavor. No room for dessert, unfortunately. Really enjoy returning to this place time after time.

The Trail Center is a must stop eatery. Everything on the menu is good home cooking! The staff is great, always willing to share stories about the Trail. We always make at least one stop in, to eat & visit old friends.

We vacation 25 min from the Trail center every year, and we eat there at least once each year. Many times it is 2x per year. I can honestly say that I have never had bad service, or a bad meal at the restaurant....ever. Their malts are the best anywhere. There can sometimes be a wait if it is in... More

We've been eating at the Trail Center the past 2 years that we've visited the Gunflint. And in the 11 days we stayed at a lodge we ate at the Trail Center 8 of those days. Whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner, no matter the time, the food was excellent. And you can stock up on trail food at... More

We stopped at the Trail Center for breakfast on our way up the Trail. I had the 'bread pudding french toast' with homemade pumpkin syrup 🎃! Oh, my - after the first bite I totally forgot about calories. It came with two eggs and bacon which was thick and done just right. The coffee was flavorful and plentiful. The service... More

Had some hashbrowns for breakfast. Sooooo good. I always stop here when going up the Gunflint and pick up some camp chow. It's a staple for me when going up the Gunflint. My only complaint is that the people at the till haven't been very friendly every time I've gone. It takes me a bit by surprise. Had an older... More

Probably our favorite. Well worth the drive up the gunflint to try this place. Amazing food, and the best malts around!
