I have been coming to Frankies since 2008. I love the fennel salad. The pastas are phenomenal. The long bar at the front of the place makes me smile the second I lay eyes on it. It's just a consistently delicious, wonderful spot. It makes me so happy to eat here, I try to get here every time I'm in... More

Whenever we visit family in Brooklyn, we make sure to get a meal at Frankies. Excellent service and food. The gnocchi are clouds of joy; and the Tiramisu is pure heaven.

We ordered lots of things. The antipasto was ample and OK, nothing special and the olives tasted weird. The ambiance was pleasant. The service was just OK, as well. The saving grace for me was my entree, the short rib pappardelle. The short rib was what I expected and not overly salted. The pasta was wonderful. the flavor was excellent.... More

A bit out of the way - at the end of Carroll Gardens near the growing Gowanus area. Great food warm brick interior, very neighborhood - but often packed and without reservations unless you are in a large party. Excellent food - Two seating areas and outdoor seating in the warm weather - the trick is to get a seat... More

Our favorite stop when staying in Brooklyn. Favorites include the meatballs, squid salad and the eggplant.

*Great* spot to have in the neighborhood. Cool vibe, decent price considering the alternatives in the area -- Prime Meats, Buttermilk -- and generally EXCELLENT food. Eat the cavatelli.

I've eaten here on four different trips and each time has been excellent. They don't take reservations and it's about a .5 mile walk from the nearest subway station. This is a local secret that I'm happy to share. The service is excellent and the food is outstanding. It's a very small restaurant and in my opinion not kid friendly.

We had a fantastic dinner at Frankie's. A crowded evening so surprised at being seated quickly, probably because we were a party of only 3. Small, tight restaurant yet we found out they had additional seating areas aside from the main room and bar. Service was prompt and efficient but not necessarily very friendly. Server seemed rushed. The two pasta... More

Sorry, not a big fan, overpriced and they complicate every dish there with unrecognizable ingredients. The portions are small, tables too tight together and the humidity level in that place rivaled a sauna at the gym. Poor value. Ate there on 12/28 and won't be back. Sorry New Yorkers but this is not Italian.

Great place for lunch although get there early as it's small and will fill up by 12:30pm. Delicious soups and salads. Their house red is lovely and the staff are very accommodating.
